Approaching the Passover season, there is a part of the Haggadah where they sing a song called Dienu, which means "It would have been enough". The words go like this:

    web page

The point of the song is to emphasize how we should be grateful for any blessing that God gives us, no matter how great or small it may seem to us, it is sufficient for us. How many times do we, as Christians, stop and think about everything God has done for us and just stop and thank him for that. God saved me from my spiritual deadness and sin. Dienu....if he had only done that and nothing else, it would have been enough. But, for me, he didn't stop there, he also gave me two parents who loved me and raised me in Church...Dienu. If he had done that and nothing else, it would have been enough. But, he didn't stop there. He also gave me a Church family and teachers who loved me, taught me, and looked out for me and my well being...Dienu. If God had stopped there, it would have been enough. But, he didn't stop there. He also gave me a wife and son who love me...Dienu. If he does stop there, that would be way more than enough and more than I ever deserved...Dienu. It would be enough. Oh the greatness of his mercy and blessings. Who can count them. I wonder what God has in store for us in the future. I wonder if anyone else would like to share the blessings God has given you today...and at the end of each one, remember to write..DIENU! IT WOULD HAVE BEEN ENOUGH!

Excellent Joseph! [IMG] I was just looking at our Haggadah for Passover. We really enjoy this song especially our daughter who sings it year-round regardless of where she is. :D
Thanks for posting this. Here’s a bit more:

Had He brought us out of Egypt, but not punished the Egyptians, had He brought us out of Egypt. Dye-ay-noo!

Had He merely punished Egypt, but did not destroy their idols, had He merely punished Egypt. Dye-ay-noo!

Had He merely smote their idols, but did not slay their first born had He merely smote their idols. Dye-ay-noo!

Had He merely slain their firstborn, but did not give us their assets, had He merely slain their firstborn. Dye-ay-noo!

Had He given us their assets, but did not split the sea for us, had He give us their assets. Dye-ay-noo!

Had He merely parted the sea for us, but did not bring us through it, had he merely parted the sea. Dye-ay-noo!

Had He merely brought us through it, but did not drown our oppressors, Had He merely brought us through it. Dye-ay-noo!

Had He merely drown our oppressors, but did not provided for forty years, had He merely drown our oppressors. Dye-ay-noo!

Had He merely provided for forty years, but did not supply us manna, had He merely provided for forty years. Dye-ay-noo!

Had He merely supplied us manna, but did not give us the Sabbath, had He merely supplied us manna. Dye-ay-noo!

Had He given us the Sabbath, but did not bring us to Sinai, had He given us the Sabbath. Dye-ay-noo!

Had He brought us to Mount Sinai, but did not bring us the Torah, had he brought us to Mount Sinai. Dye-ay-noo!

Had He given us the Torah, but did not give us Israel, had He given us the Torah. Dye-ay-noo!

Had He merely given us Israel, but did not build the Temple, had He merely given us Israel. Dye-ay-noo!

Had He provided for atonement, through the death of our Messiah. Dye-ay-noo!

[IMG] Thank you Jesus!!! Glory Be to God!!! Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! “For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.”

    Enoch,

Thank you for sharing more of that song with the Messianic extension. Is there anything God has specifically done for you in your life which you would like to praise him for and share with us for the encouragement of the body of Christ.

    Dienu.

    Hi,
The way you have been bumping this, I figured you would be asking this soon. [IMG]
I think you have posted a great thread, and I have read it several times, getting a lot out of it each time.

Yes, I do, in answer to your question. Am I willing to be specific on a world-wide message board? No. But you have helped me greatly formulating praise to God in my own mind, and I thank you.

I praise God for giving His only begotten Son as my sin sacrifice and the hope I have in His death and resurrection. He delivered me from a life destined for Hell without any hope. He decided to allow me life instead of death when as a child (14) I was in a tragic accident. Thank you Jesus! I rest alone in Biblical Truth with a steadfast heart waiting for His sweet return. Dye-ay-noo!!!!!!! By the way that song was stuck in my head all day after posting. [IMG]
