Obama tried to buy the Presidency with $750 million and succeeded. Blagojevich tried to sell a Senate seat for about $1million and to date has failed.

Even with his 750 million (still waiting to see where this money came from), absolute worship from the media, Hollywood bowing down and the unprecedented propaganda…60 million Americans still said “NO” to Obama. :applause:

Correction, only 58,343,671 said no to Barack, however I think some of them have moved to his side since he now has a 79% approval rating

You tried to sneak a million or two on us...

Every candidate for President "tries to buy" the office with campaign contributions. Most aren't as successful as Obama.

I see it a little differently, it seems to me America bought the office since Obama won purely on the donations of his supporters. His supporters were willing to put their money where their hearts were.

I learned more about the distorted report which said Obama didn't run his campaign on small donations. Once a person donated over $200 total they were not counted in that report. This meant if a little old lady gave $25 for 9 months she wasn't counted in that report. The truth is he had may contributers who gave small donations many times that amounted to over $200 so they report was very skewed.

I can easily both spell and pronounce Obama in a sentence; Someone else is likely to pronounce the sentence on Gov. Blagojevich.

The term of Barack Obama is set at four years.

The term of 49 other Governors is set at either that of two years or four years.

Gov. Blagojevich's term could potentially be "five to ten" or maybe even "ten to twenty".

Actually I think CNN has not updated their information or they accidentally dropped their numbers.

Actually, Enoch initally was understating the numbers of those who, by casting their ballot, said "NO" to Obama, by >1.75M votes.

I suspect that LeBuick was citing some preliminary numbers of votes FOR the McCain/Palin ticket, which votes do not tell the whole story, by any means.

According to Wikipedia, out of a currently tallied popular vote that will likely reach 131,200,000 votes (as of the latest 'Wiki' update, the 'final' tally is a mere 14 votes shy of that figure, leading me to suspect that there are at least another 14 legitimate votes, that were/are yet untallied floating around out there somewhere), the Obama/Biden ticket received slightly less than 53% of the popular vote, with 69,445,367 accounted votes.

That leaves a difference of some 61,754,633 votes that were cast for some (ones) other than the Obama/Biden ticket.

My math may not be what it once was, but it is still good enough to recognize that there are still 61.75+M who'said "NO" to Obama' and that that number still beats 60M.

And note that these numbers do not even begin to reflect the number, of easily another 60+M, that ostensibly could have cast a ballot, but whom, for whatever reason, did not do so, either, thus saying "NO" to all the easily available choices!

(That just more than doubled that 60M figure, FTR!)

BTW, how does "President-select Obama" (Barack Obama will not actually be, even though he has been almost continually erroneously referred to as, "President-elect Obama", until and after the Electors meet and cast their ballots tomorrow, on Dec. 15. 2008!) receive a 79% approval rating, when he doesn't even step foot inside the Oval Office, for another 5 weeks??

I wish Sen. Obama well in his new job, and certainly have nothing against him, personally (even if politically), but I cannot possibly give any meaningful approval (or disapproval) rating to one who has not yet spent one minute of one day on what happens to be the toughest job in the world!

Even should some completely undreamed of calamity befall the current President, Vice-President and any and/or all the other other notable members of Presidential ascension, Sen,. Obama is not even near the radar-screen of ascension, in any manner whatsoever (He has already resigned, as a Senator.), currently, until Jan. 20, 2009.

I agree with the approval rating thing. It seems we can't be critical of him without raiseing the ire of his flock, but thay can assign him an 70% approval rating ?

    A Little Help, Please??

Back to the subject, at hand, the thread title- :D

(C'mon, gang! Help me out here, a little! :1_grouphug:

This thread title is 'tailor-made' for great "one-liners"!

In fact, I have seen very few in three years on the BB, that could be milked for more jokes than this one.)

Sen. Obama 'changed' his handle to Barry, then later, back to Barack
    Obama.

Gov. Blagojevich changed his handle to Gov. Bla-gonna'-get-rich
    !

Perhaps it is because, as tinytim said: He's cool!. That demonstrates the intellect of the average Obama votor as was demonstrated on Facebook or some such.
