It is not surprising seeing how they are on the edge of a cliff and about to go over.

    1. There is no evidence that this is actually happening. What we do know is that after the 2000 election many false and unsubstantiated claims were made against Republicans by Democrats.

    2. If there is some events of this nature it is only assumed it is from the Republicans by admission from the article itself.

    3. This appears to be nothing more that fear tactics from the left and it was certainly poor reporting.

Rev. why do you make such silly comments ... but they do provide a lot of humor. Read on ... even Fox News comments on the fliers.

From Channel 19, Fox News in Charlottesville:

From the newspaper, The Virginia Pilot where the front page of the flier is shown:

Where is this tied into the McCain campaign? If not, your point is moot.

It used to be called 'yellow journalism'.

Reporters lie! Some one says or does something and reporters take it as truth without checking or revealing the source and pass along the gossip. Another picks up the story and adds opinions and keeps it going. Our law enforcement gets caught into this trap with their street informants directing them to the wrong person or house. And then people read this junk and jump to their own conclusions that its this person or party or that..... without really knowing who started it.

While it is true that zealots for a cause will often do what extreme things they can to disparage the opposition, no other tool is so venimous and hideous as that of creating a disturbance or planting outrageous disinformation, which can then be blamed on another group. (Remember the recent events of a muslim student staging her own injuries and attributing it to 'hate', and a recent emotionally ill girl disfiguring her face to blame it on persons of an opposing party.)

If we fail to weigh what is fact and what is fiction, we will be duped by the lies all around us, and repeated often enough, the lies become established in the minds of people (like the 'stolen elections of yesteryears) and in the collective memory as truth....when it is not.

Interesting how, even when Fox News is reporting it, and there are copies of the voter fraud leaflet that ultra conservatives start screaming liberal. But perhaps you consider Fox News liberal.

Is voter fraud all right as long as it is your side doing it?

Fox News is worse than liberal, it's Catholic. People who think conservatives get all their trusted info from there are mistaken.

I'm not sure how Catholic he is. Here is a quote from an interview with R. Murdoch...

    http://209.85.135.104/search?q=cach...1/+Rupert+Murdoch+catholic&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1

But that is outside the subject of this thread which is dirty tricks.

Dirty tricks are wrong no matter who does them. If there is proof that republicans did it post that proof and we will know your title isn't a democratic dirty trick.

On the other hand if you know of democratic dirty tricks you should probably post them as well - thanks in advance if you do know of any.

Some could suggest your candidate is a democratic dirty trick, but I would never say that

Well of course it is! To a liberal. Don't all good liberals believe truth is relative?

Unless the McCain campaign is doing this...the OP-point is worthless.

If you're not here illegally and don't have outstanding arrest warrants you have nothing to worry about even if this report were completely true and even if it were a widespread practice which it is not.

I say arrest anyone - Democrat or Republican - who shows up anywhere who's here illegally or who has outstanding arrest warrants.

    Absolutely not!

I would strongly support the investigation of these leaflets and the prosecution of whoever was behind them.

Tampering with our election process should be a big deal and should result in a felony and jail time!

So should trying to register illegals, paying for votes or attempting to vote twice!
