I just sent a decorated Gulf War I vet to prison for kidnapping, rape and murder. While in the Army, he ran a stolen goods ring, and sold drugs. The Army let him stay in for a long time after his deeds were exposed because he was such a "good soldier". Only after repeated violations was he court-martialed. He murdered my victim not long after his release from Levenworth.
This movie sounds like a true story. It needs to be told.
I'm surprised people are more upset by a Disney movie than they are about the fictional account of Pvt Lynch's capture that the pentagon disseminated through the media (supposedly LIBERAL media) who readily published it without any verification.

Let's also not forget that it was a Gulf War veteran who parked a truck full of explosives under a day care center in Oklahoma City, and another Gulf War veteran who was his co-conspirator.

Well, let's just all bash our military whenever and where ever we can no matter what they are doing right now, like being executed in Iraq or defending democracy when they are called up to duty.

All I know is if I was a parent or spouse of someone in the military right now, I would be pretty upset over this movie.

It is just more anti-American propaganda by the Hollywood elite.

So many positively themed war movies in the last decade, and this is considered more propaganda? [IMG]

I agree that some stories get shoved under the rug and do need to be told. It's not about bashing the military, it's about telling the stories. Why is it that telling a story about something negative in our military is considered bashing? Puh-lease.

Is there a reason that when I did a seperate search on "Miramax", "Warts and All" and "Joaquin Phoenix" That there was no information out there. I checked upcoming movies, and all the news sites...and nothing. I don't trust the Drudgereport...because it's basically like the National Enquirer...they aren't exactly known for thier ethics.

Are you sure this isn't just a made up story?

Oh She-Eagle - and other Americana pushers

So you will allow them to make movies that say army is good?

What about those soldiers that are bad?

Do we hide them up - cover them up because we MUST support OUR boys?

Foolishness - the only thing we need to support
is God - And in NO way is the US army anything close to the Knights Templar or Teutonic Knights of yore

SO simply PUT - &@#^@ happens - the army DOES have its corrupt elements - and it doesnt need your folks support in order to continue to have these corrupt elements in it

Please why are you people even bothering us with this folly - Disney does soft porn - deal with that - its so much more important

Or must one shove evil in your faces - in order to get you to realize you have other FAR more important battles to fight

LOL I just went to Miramax to check it out, and it's a black comedy about a clerk trading in the black market.

Ooooh . . . sounds about as propagandized as Stripes.

So, Sularis, did you notice this movie has:

violence, drug content, strong language and some sexuality

    Does that count?

Are you saying we don't fight those battles? How would you know?

Ever notice the same people on any given threads fighting battles against evil in our faces are usually always the same people and the ones who think anything goes are usually the same ones, too? But we keep on trying. Hope you are doing the same in your country. Cheers. [IMG]

Sounds like just another movie to me She-Eagle. I didn't hear anyone protesting "Wag the Dog", which oddly enough kinda sorta in a way happened after it's release.
I admit the timing seems a bit off, but maybe it's what some Americans need. We're not a perfect nation, we don't have a perfect sin-free military or perfect sin-free ANYTHING. Patriotism is great and wonderful, I'm all for it and think our guys have and are doing a beautiful job, but patriotism lately has been bordering on worship. Maybe it's time for a reality check by some people. A few bad deals in the military doesn't mean the whole thing is corrupt, but that some people can admit they're not akin to God is a good thing.

My goodness SheEagle ... got your knickers in a twist over a comedy? Goodness gracious, girl ... and now I Am Blessed is all hot to trot with the petitions and protest. I am sure that Mickey is scared to death. This really funny. [IMG] You probably like Neal Boork; Michael Savage, Hannity and Russ Limbaugh ... along with the Drudge Report! All very open minded sources.

There's a movie out right now that shows human insensitivity to fish. It's clearly an anti-human movie.

How dare Disney distribute an anti-human movie when human beings are facing such challenges today!

I urge you to write Disney and complain about their anti-human movie... It's called, "Finding Nemo".
