It no longer bears resemblance to Walt Disney's vision.

No I don't think they are discriminating against the disabled. The segway is designed and marketed as transportation for everyone not the disabled. Since its primary purpose is for everyone then Disney can ban its us in its parks just as they can ban bikes and skateboards.

I am assuming that "Segways" are those battery-powered scooters that help disabled people get around. If so, I don't agree that there is any discrimination here. They are used on the pavements (sidewalks) in towns and cities here, by disabled people doing their shopping, but some of them go so fast as to strike fear into the hearts of others using the pavements!

Thanks, Magnetic Poles. Not quite what I was thinking of. (It looks as if a person would have to be reasonably able-bodied to use one of those). This is what I had in mind:

Sounds to me like they are discriminating against Segways, and rightfully so! They are probably also discriminating against riding motorcycles through the park.

The safety of the other people take precedence in this case, in my opinion.

In this case no they are not. There are way too many people, especially young children, at theme parks to have any vehicle that goes over 12mph. There is reason the ECV's in theme parks are locked at a certain, low speed. It is not Disney's or any theme park's fault if they choose not to choose a wheelchair or ECV. The safety of many precludes the comfort of a few.
