No doubt about the alien thing...

They attacked Israel and conquered it...

Lam 5:2 "Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens."

The early Christians were mostly aliens...

Eph 2:12 "That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:"

Some of God's champions of faith fought large alien armies...

Heb 11:34 "Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens."

    Or... maybe not... ;) :D :D :D [IMG] [IMG]

In Daniel 7 there are "myriads upon myriads" constituting the court of heaven. The court sits - they being judgment of the saints - and judgment is passed in favor of the saints.

In Job 1 - a group of non-humans come before God in a council - Lucifer comes among them and when asked about where he comes from - he says from Earth.

The group that is meeting in that case - are not humans.

Having said all of that - my main point is to point out that just as it is "risk and error" to assume "there is nothing to the ghost stories" so it is "risk and error" to assume there is nothing to these government official sources that retiren and confess that they were misleading the public.

There is just as much error in believing IN Ghosts as their is in believing that none of those stories have supernatural fact behind them.

The same is true of aliens. Just as much error in believing IN beings from other planets vacationing here after starving/hunting/evolving on their planet - as in not believing that at least some of these events are in fact real encounters with non-humans.

Basically the trick Satan is using here - is same song - second verse.

    In Christ,

    Bob

That's waaaaayyyy extreme. Most UFO's are natural, conventional, or explainable. They're simply "unidentified". Just because something is unidentified, doesn't mean it should be attributed to Satan or demons. That's simply giving Satan credit for something that he had nothing to do with. DO you think Satan won't take the credit for something he didn't do? Of course he will, and you're freely giving it to him. Bad, bad, BAD idea.
There's no need to agree or disagree with that. Statistically, it's probable. But difinitive one way or another, no one can say outside the realm of speculation. There may be sentient life elsewhere, there may not be. Either way, it neither shakes nor bolsters my relationship with God.

That is perhaps the "one thing" all sides agree with.

Its that "other stuff" that we are talking about. The part where the SAME parties (government sources) that told us they had "nothing" -- retire and then tell "another truth".

I do believe that most ufo sightings are fully natural though not fully explainable. We are pretty arrogant as human beings to think that science has explained all of the mysteries God has planted in this universe.

I only meant above, that it was more plausible to me that ufo sightings which did not fall into the above category more likely have their foundation in demonic doings that extra-terrestrial.

    And there I fully agree.

God is sovereign - and protector of all His creation. Consider that the angels are among the most powerful created beings in all the universe and that 1/3 fell and were cast out - God "protects" his universe by only allowing them access to the unfallen beings - at the "one tree". A tree which He specificially warns against. Nothing vague - full disclosure.

Then mankind chooses sin - and opens the door so that as Paul says Satan becomes "the god of this world" and "the prince of the power of the air". As Job points out - Satan comes "from earth" when attending that council.

No way would God then have his own unfallen sinless beings of other worlds "stopping by for a visit".

No way would God use "evilution" to create peace, perfection, sinless harmony and life.

    In Christ,

    Bob

The aforementioned "Another truth" typically sells a lot of books, doesn't it? Conspiracy theorists are not poor people. Remember the "alien autopsy" hoax? There were numerous "real life retired" folks who came out of the woodwork attesting to the "authenticity". In the end, it turned out to be the product of a garage studio hollywood fimllaker wannabe.

The biggest so-called "ufo consipracy" is Area 51. There are lots of "retired miliraty" who have attested to "another truth". Have you ever compared some of theist stories? Some of them are so contradictory, there's no way these folks can be deemed credible. Yet people will believe what they want to believe.

It takes more paranoia than I have to imagine that government authority after authority, witness after witness - even those who only "witness" at the end of a long retirement --- are all "conspiring at the end of life to make money". In fact - they do not make money.

Who makes money - are those who choose to write about it - and maybe some who choose to video tape their statements.

Other groups have spoken out while IN government office - like COMETA in France.

Supposing that every voice that speaks out is making loads of money - is more speculation than I have ever been tempted to make.

Scratch my "lots of money" reference and replace it with "a quick buck".

If life elsewhere were discovered, the military and NASA wouldn't keep it a secret. They'd make it public, in an effort to secure more funding to research the same. No life elsewhere = no funding, so a "conspiracy to cover-up" makes no sense whatsoever.

    That is a speculative statement.

I am talking about real credible eye witness reports, real videos, entire groups of people all taking videos of the same event, real videos from Nasa, real radar confirmation, real ground-based AND air based radar confirmation, real declassified documented reports.... etc.

Nasa may have videos that are hard to explain - but they don't have aliens in their labs and they don't have anything near the ability to go find one out in space (no matter how many billions you may have for funding). The size of the problem to "go to another solar system" is far beyond the total GNP of the planet.

The problem is that SETI is "tooled up" like natives searching for signs of other natives that might be using signal fires. They are not listening for Radio signals but watching for smoke signals. (in that analogy).

    Here are some facts -

#1. The encounters with superior technology are not in a setting designed in favor of our inferior technology.

#2. The military is not in a position to "benefit" from a statement saying that they have no ability to react/defend/manage a real set of outsiders with advanced technology. So currently they simply "observe" that we have sufferred no "significant" damage.

Also consider that declassified documents now show that in the mid 1900's both the US and the USSR (at that time) reacted to credible UFO sightings (the ones they could not explain away) as evidence of advanced capability of the other country. They reacted by not telling us what they were thinking - and by trying to "catch the butterfly" as it were - until they both realized that no way could our cold-war-enemy have such advanced technology.

Now we have another phase of the problem. Since it remains an uncontrollable event completely out of their reach - they may be acting under the idea that various countries are getting some kind of "opportunities" to adopt new technology and they don't want to broadcast what they know in that quiet little "race".

My point is that as Christians we actually have a clearer view of the implications of this and as long as we stick to the Gospel explanation of the universe, and continue to reject evilution of life in the universe - we can be the voice of reason even though we know from 2Thess 2 that "strong delusions, signs and wonders" are in store - including the ability to "call down fire from heaven in the sight of mankind".

    In Christ,

    Bob
