Raised with a spiritual, flesh and bone, incorruptible, glorious body, like as the resurrected Jesus the Christ.

    OK, we agree.

What is Spirit? Who can say. I believe it's beyond us.

As Jesus made the analogy to wind.

We don't know where it comes from and where it goes but can only see it's effect (leaves rustling on trees, etc). So with the Spirit - we can't know everything about spirit substance or essence but we can see the effects thereof.

Then there is the Holy Spirit however which is a person, the third person of the Trinity.

I agree with you concerning john 4. It needs to be looked at combining verses 23 and 24 and thinking of Jesus as speaking of his Father.

    From Greek Interlinear Scripture4all
The Father such is seeking, the ones worshiping Him, spirit The God.

    I put in the commas.

John 1:1 from the same: IN beginning WAS THE word AND THE word WAS TOWARD THE GOD AND GOD WAS THE word.

My question. Did The God and God Was The word Just up and become flesh or did he impregnate the seed/egg of the virgin Mary and she conceive and birth (bring forth) the only begotten Son of God a man child, Jesus? Thus a body for God howbeit of the flesh physical. Was both dead and buried as a man child and resurrected by God the Father the last Adam spiritual man the Son of God from being begotten to being the firstborn from the dead in spiritual body?

I believe the spiritual body is like our souls. They are alive(functionally speaking), but can't be seen with the human eyes. Has any of us ever seen the Holy Ghost? I have never seen Him, but boy have I felt Him.

So what is the purpose of the resurrection then?

Personally, I am glad this old body upon death returns to ashes and dust and I enter the gate as a new person. I think many play on too many words to determine what we will be like after death. I can't fathom that I will be one amongst millions there and yet will experience Christ personally. Scripture speaks of a "new heaven and new earth", does that mean we get to die again in order to gain "heaven". Or, is that a heavenly earth? Paul spoke of rising to the 7th heaven. Really, a 7th heaven! Or is that just an expression and has nothing to do with a numerical place? I'll let you speculate. I am happy just to be going whatever it is.

    Cheers,

    Jim

I think he meant to say the third heaven:

2 Corinthians 12:2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.

Thanks, mate, I did mean 3rd heaven of 2 Cor 12. Guess I was still thinking about the Islamic teachings about heaven.

Point is the same....more than one heaven.

    Cheers,

    Jim

There is people who believe in three stages of heaven and they named them the stars, moon, and the sun. That there is no hell and the more you love the higher you can go the sun being the highest heaven.

I see the three heavens as two that we see the one in our atmosphere the other outside of our atmosphere and the one we don't see but believe in is the city of God the one we are waiting for where there is many many rooms that Jesus is preparing a place for us. I see treasures in heaven as people that God used us to influence and all these treasures I'll place at the feet of Jesus for without Him no one will be saved.

I am sorry that this is off subject, but i didn't start it.

    To the rest:

Why speculate? Paul said it is a mystery, and used nature as an example. The seed that is sown is not what grows. In other words, our glorified bodies will be like our natural bodies about as much as a rose is like the seed from which it springs.

Yes, the bodies that have died will be resurrected, but they will be changed.

But there is one particular post that I can't let get away . . .

    Holy cow.

And we're worried about what kind of impression we give unbelieving visitors to this site when we argue?

well, guess that is where the Mormons got there 3 heavens from!

Think Apostle paul was refering to 3 heavens as being the atmosphere around us, the 'air", second one outer space, third one real Heaven!
