Reading Isaiah 66 first 10 verses to see if it is talking about "jus sacrificing rats" or actually EATING rats is left as an exercise for the reader.

It is worth noting that in Gen 6 and 7 - lonnnnnnggg before there was a mean ol' jew to spin the bible "wrong" God still had the distinction between clean and unclean animals. The Clean animals enter the ark by 7's the unclean by 2's.

    In Christ,

    Bob

    Hmmm,
    could this be true?
But even if it is God said in the bible what we shall eat and what we shall not eat. Do you not think that maybe God said this because it makes sense? I think if God suggests something then it's wise to follow it. When God says that pigs aren't good for food then I think it's pretty dumb to eat them. Who knows what it causes? I have already read bad things about pork.

But the guy on the 3ABN show wanted to make it look as if the reduction of the life span of the people only had to do with eating flesh because in the beginning they become 900 years old and then it quickly went down after they were allowed to eat meat, I think that this is a bit silly. You cannot simply blame it all on the meat.

But what I also noticed is that somehow SDA's seem to like to scare people with bible verses. This guy said that you go to hell if you eat pork, the other bald prophecy guy said that you go to hell if you don't keep the sabbath. Somehow they seem to like this.

    @ Bob

Do you virtually never eat pork or do you only try to avoid it?
Let's say you want to eat a pizza with peperoni then what do you do? Do you remove the peperoni? But even if you remove it then there will still be molten fat from the peperoni on the surface of the pizza.

I don't know if I will be able to totally avoid pork. My family will not accept this and think that I'm totally religious now and they will certainly not cook special meals for me.

I never said the law saved anyone.

Rom 4:3 For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness."

Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh,
Rom 8:4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

Do pork-eaters go to hell? Well, the pigs would like to think so....

Other than that, eat what is good for you. Pork is a lot less dangerous than diet sodas, Twinkies, and potato chips!

I think if we eat what God created rather than what man creates we will be doing a lot better.

Salvation, on the other hand, is a matter of believing in Christ -- being born again and being His follower. Works show who and what you are, they don't make you that way. What you eat shows how you are caring for the body God gave you.

Personally, I like pork. I like it with applesauce especially!

is it morally wrong to eat pork? no. therefore it has no sway in the matters of salvation.

"do pork eaters go to hell?" --- in a word: no.

personally i despise pork... bad texture... though maple bacon is amazing. :p

There WILL be pork eaters in hell! Along with beef eaters, chicken eaters, fish eaters, vegetarians, etc.

There will NOT be any saved people in hell no matter what they eat!

xdx, if you would read the studies I recommend you wouldn't ask such ridiculous questions. You wouldn't reach such foolish conclusions. Pay attention to Amy and those with similar responses. Ignore BobRyan. Have a few laughs about the whole thing.

And this comment somehow changes the fact that the correct context concerning the eating of pigs and mice in Isaiah 66:17 is sanctification through sacrifice? Christians do not do this, period! You should leave Isaiah out of your anti-pork position, it just makes it look like you have no skills at bible exegesis. (with all due respect, i do like you Bob  )

    God Bless!

Why? Bob made a good point which nobody replied to. If this whole stuff is just a "jewish thing" which doesn't affect gentiles why did God already distinguish between clean and unclean animals when he told Noah how many animals to take into the ark? This clearly proves that the whole concept already existed long time before the jews! And this means that it also exists today and that eating pork is against God's will.
I don't think that God simply forbids to eat certain animals just for fun because he wants to make up rules which have no meaning. If God considers an animal unclean than most likely it is because it has a reason. Maybe eating those animals is simply totally unhealthy and causes diseases? Or do you think that God simply likes to invent rules and the truth is that pork is just as good as beef?

It is true. Isaiah 66:17 should not be referenced as an anti-pork eating verse. It shows a lack of proper exegesis.

Who is "we". Are you a Jew, a Gentile, or a Christian? Christians may eat what they please according to God's Word.

    God Bless!

    If they so please.

It does prove that it existed from the beginning, pre cross. It does not prove that it exist today, post cross. God's NT word ended the dietary laws, it's that simple!

    God Bless!

Actually the readers of Isaiah would have as CONTEXT - the fact that they already knew that eating rats was a sin from Lev 11.

The CONTeXT for the readers of Isaiah would be that eating AND sacrificing them were both wrong. They would never have been so befuddled and confused as to suppose that eating rats was fine ...

But even worse - Isaiah 66:15-17 shows that the point is the FUTURE time of fire and brimstone judgment of God where those who "eat mice and destible things" (a quote of the text for a change) are burned. It never mentions the idea "some day those who eat mice will be doing just fine".

Isa 66:15 For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
Isa 66:16 For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.
Isa 66:17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.

    In Christ,

    Bob

When DQ tells you to "ignore the word of God in Isaiah 66" with a "have a few laughts and read some other chapter instead" he really means to say that you have read "the bad part" of the Word of God again xd.

He just likes to pretend that BobRyan wrote it!!  :applause:
