Because I was old enough to be drafted, I paid close attention to the events going on in Nam. When Johnson went on national television to let the nation know that Congress issued him a carte Blanche approval to do whatever was necessary in Nam. It started with bombings and 16,000 advisors and by 1968, 550,00 troops were on the ground and fighting a war that would bring his presidency grief, and a loss to Nixon! Iraq is beginning to look a lot like LBJ and Viet Nam! How many of you believe America can avoid putting boots on the ground?
