If so then we should post guards with orders to shoot anyone trying to cross at uncontrolled entry points.

The death toll would probably be less than those who die from exposure now since the number attempting to cross would immediately and dramatically drop.

Just how serious are those complaining about illegal aliens about coming up with a really effective solution? Sending them back doesn't work. We can't afford to jail them.

If we are serious, there is only one way to do it. We have to be willing to "guard" the border for real.

I agree with posting guards but not with shoot to kill orders unless they are either fired upon or there is evidence that the illegal aliens are armed.

I agree with Ken armed guards with orders to defend themselves against attack. Don't know if they do it anymore but the Army used to train people on guard duty to not fire their weapon unless fired upon.

If they knew they couldn't get across there'd be less reason to try.

We never really tried sending them back seriously, and we can't afford to keep supporting them either.

I'm all for adamantly enforcing the laws that are already on the books. All this "immigration reform" talk and "new laws" are just a euphemism for blanket amnesty and a smoke screen to put us off and give a false sense of security long enough so the globalists can finish putting the final touches on the North American Union.

The plan of this Canada-U.S.-Mexico task force is to establish a continent-wide customs union with a common approach to trade, energy, immigration, law enforcement and security that would virtually eliminate existing national borders. The task force released its recommendations for a common North American in May 17/18, 2005.There was minor reference to it in mainstream media - no headline presentation.
    The recommendations include
    • a common security perimeter by 2010
    • a North American Border Pass with biometric identifiers.
    • a unified border and expanded customs facilities
    • a single economic space
    • a common external tariff.
    • seamless movement of goods within North America.
    • A North American energy strategy -as a regional alternative to Kyoto.
    • Review those sectors of NAFTA that were excluded.
    • A North American regulatory plan that would include "open skies and open roads" and a unified approach on food, health, and the environment.
    • Expand temporary worker programs and create a "North American preference" for immigration for citizens of North America.
    • A North American Investment Fund to build infrastructure to connect Mexico's poorer regions in the south to the market to the north.
    • Restructure and reform Mexico's public finances.
    • Fully develop Mexican energy resources (Mexico wisely kept their energy out of NAFTA)
    • A permanent tribunal for trade and investment disputes.( Here is where any vestige of democratic government disappears)
    • An annual North American summit meeting.
    • A Tri-national Competition Commission with a common approach to trade remedies.
    • Scholarships for a network of Centers for North American Studies. (To serve the corporations)
    • Below is the list of the Members of the Independent Task Force on North America- Many are members of the Trilateral Commission - a similar corporate interest group from the USA, Japan and Western Europe )

Thanks, again, poncho. Unfortunately, there seems NO ONE in the Republican Party who dares to speak truth to power. And even if they did, it would fall on deaf ears. Senator Frist doesn't realize it yet, but when he comes up for re-election this Fall, he is going to lose, for example. The arrogant airheads on Capitol Hill don't realize how incensed the American people are over their unwillingness to defend and protect our borders.

Okay, fine. But if he's seeiking to run for the Big House, he won't get Tennessean votes either (except for the illegal alien votes).

Well if children 'especially' are involved...then they just need to have more respect for their own country...why else should they dread returning or going ther except for an elitist prefrence to the US?

Don't kid yourself LE they don't need our votes anymore they only need enough people at the polls and in the media to make it look as though they aren't stealing elections with their Diebold and ES&S machines.

If they needed votes they would be listening to us.

Why? If you want to stop it the only way is to make the cost of coming over too great. When someone is destitute and jobless, the only thing worth more than an opportunity to make a good living is staying alive.

People have proposed a fence as if that will stop determined people from finding a boat or a tunnel or some other means around it.

There is another solution that is currently being practiced and criticized - if you don't want illegal aliens coming here, send the jobs there.

Unless you are ready to go as far as they are... they'll always have enough reason to try. They already take risks of life and limb to get here. We'll have to raise the ante if we're going to stop them. Anything less will just raise their costs... it won't stop them.

I got an idea Scott let's not get lost in all the wedge issues here and just cut to the chase okay? First take the time to actually read the article at this link. (the whole thing) It's not from a conspiracy site or a leftist or liberal site, it's from The National Conservative Weekly.

    http://www.humaneventsonline.com/article.php?id=15233

Then when you are done with that go into your bathroom, take off your shirt, turn around and look in the mirror at that huge knife stuck deeply into your back by your own government. Then I'll be glad to sit down and discuss the real issue here with you at great length. Fair enough?

The subject of this thread is not your conspiracy theories Poncho or what the political class might or might not be doing.

I am talking about what appears to be the only practical, effective solution to end illegal immigration from Mexico to the satisfaction of those who are so deeply troubled by it. Use some logic and you'll see that what I am saying is true. They're already risking death so the only thing worse is to raise the odds of dying to near certainty.

You probably wouldn't even have to hit anyone though. You could just make the announcement and have a few highly publicized close misses.

I would think that many here would love this idea. I mean civilians are dying in Iraq because of an indirect threat that most weren't directly responsible for. The Mexican illegals according to many here are a blight... the worst thing to happen to the country possibly ever... sub-human invaders out to destroy our economy, system of law, and way of life in one fell swoop.

I learned to love Mexicans and support allowing more to legally enter. But OTOH, if were going to "do something" about the illegal problem then let's at least be effective and not pussy foot around about it.

I didn't think it was about insulting one another either Scott. Live and learn I guess.

Actually it appears to me that you want to try and cut down the tree by shaking the leaves. I prefer to get at the root myself. But to each his own.

    .

Use some logic? Like avoiding the real reason they're able to flood into the country in the first place? I fail to see the logic in that. But that's okay too I guess.

I don't even know what you are talking about here.

What idea is that? Making the cost to great? What's that mean? You going to charge admission or something?

Yeah we invaded and occupied their country under false pretences. Never seemed to be a real concern before though, what's up with that?

What? I'd like to see some quotes to back this statement up.

Okay Scott you go shoot em up or charge em extra for mileage or whatever. I gotta get back to the real issues now. This was kind of fun and entertaining though, thanks. :wavey:

For the record, I wasn't insulting you. You constantly propose a grand conspiracy theory to explain everything that happens. That is your prerogative and no matter how unreasonable I find it... you might be right.

OTOH, you don't have to bring it into every thread and especially not this one.
