No, not everyone speaks-- born deaf or other reasons-- so not everyone speaks in a tongue.

I speak in tongues but not necessarily in the charismatic sense.

I have to. I work with teens.

I used to speak in Spanish, but I have forgotten most of it due to lack of use.

    My prayer language is English.

I think Hinduism is one. Of course, by "tongues," I mean something unknown, i.e., not a language spoken by man.

I've been in the Pentecostal churches (Assemblies of God & Churches of God) before. I believe that speaking in tongues is a real gift of the Holy Spirit. However, I don't believe that everyone has that gift. Not everyone was meant to have it. I attended one church & it was almost like they expected everyone to be able to speak in tongues at one point or another. Maybe I misinterpreted what they meant. I don't know.

I visited the Semback Baptist Church (IFB) in Germany. Pastor Roy Grisby was preaching one night (in English). A member translated the message into German for a local national who attended (and did not speak English)
The German individual was saved that night. Pastor Roy stated that was spiritual speaking in tongues!

Salty,, speaking in tongues (a language) I can believe. That lines up with scripture, both Old and New Testament.

    Cheers,

    Roy Grigsby

I was a member of the church he used to pastor in Kaiserslautern (after he left). It was a great church. I've met him also when I was stationed in Wiesbaden and went to Independent Baptist Church pastored by Chuck Sligh.
Pastor Grigsby is now with the Lord.

Yes, that's true. I think glossalalia is found in animistic practices as well, which witchcraft is akin to.

I used to "speak in tongues". I was licensed with the AoG for three years. I've since repented. Believe me it's just babel.

I used to get a real charge out of Jimmy Swaggart when he broke out in "tongues" on the telly........that's a huge laugh!
