What we have on our cable system is TBN, INSP, and a local station that heavy on pentecostal/charismatic programming.

I can't watch much without getting mad.

There are programs on these networks that are not Charismatic/Pentecostal.
    example:
    Charles Stanley (Baptist)
Insearch of the lord's Way (Church of christ)
    D.james Kennedy (Presbryterian)
    Ed Young (BAptist)
    Gerald Mann (Baptist)
    Frazier UMC (Mehtodist)
    E.V. Hill (BAptist)
    Swans place (Baptist)

There ar others I can't think of his name but the President of the Southern Baptist Convention from Snellville Georgia (Good ole What's his name)
comes on every Sunday Morning on TBN.

"atestring," are you thinking of Adrian Rogers? He's the only preacher I watch. His show is half over by the time we get home from church, but we can catch it again in the evening. My husband was baptised by Pastor Rogers about 30 years ago, and says the guy preaches with the same enthusiasm now as he did then. [IMG]

Family Net is the best I've seen.

Trinity is worthless, except for an occasional Bill Gaither show or Billy Graham special to break up the numerologists and prosperity preachers.

Inspiration isn't quite as bad, but almost.

I did not realize that he is on television, I have heard him on radio.
    Thanks for letting me know.

Most so called christian tv, isn't christian. Much of it even goes so far to actually deny Christ (the Christ as the bible tells us about). If I had Family Net I'd watch it, but I don't, all we have is TBN  and a local channel, which some of it is watchable sometimes.
We occasionally watch Charles Stanley, and there are a few from our state on one channel or another on Sundays we sometimes watch.(I think they're all Baptists). But I'd be glad to watch almost all christian television if there were any. Too many have traded the gospel for popularity, money, spiritual pride, a mishmash of twisted scripture and made up doctrines.

Have you paid any attention to what they actuall believe on some of those so called christian shows? To call onesself a little god, a little Jesus, is denying the true Jesus.

I am not sure that I know who you are talking about.
I watch Christian Television and I just don't hear this.

Let me know who you are talking about and when to watch.
Do you watch these people on a regular basis so that you would hear these things?

    atestring,

Many TV preachers have a heretical view of the work of Christ and of God. They're teaching heresy. I don't have time right now to provide you with specifics, but if you'll investigate, especially the teachings of Paul Crouch, Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn, Fred Price, T.D. Jakes, Rod Parsley, Morris Cerullo, and others, you'll find the truth. If you need some help locating info, PM me and I'll direct you to some links.

You mentioned above that Gerald Mann is a Baptist. I have seen his program a few times, and while I haven't heard him teach glaring error, I have noticed that he never really comes close to preaching biblical doctrine.

Another SBC pastor on TBN you didn't mention is Ron Phillips, who too now espouses some of the worst of charismatic excess.

Actually, my tv is an atheist. But I am working hard to make it one of the elect... :D

I didn't vote because there wasn't an answer that fit my opinion. So here it is: I don't think "Christian" TV exists. Most of what I see on "Christian" tv is pagan.

    Atestring,
You're thinking of Dr. James Merritt. He's good. But they preempt him on our cable system to show some local yahoo. I watch him on INSP though. I wish Alistair Begg had a tv ministry :(

My answer to you would be just what Joseph said. There are plenty of places to investigate them. Anyone I intend on watching I investigate first. What they have said and do teach is pretty easy to find, and well documented, much of it coming from their own shows, or books.
I did not say all christian tv is bad, but only about 98% of it. There are a few.

Sorry about leaving out Ron Phillips.
    He is actually my favorite!!!
His book : "Awakened By The Spirit" is a must read for every Baptist.
It is endorsed by Timothy George (The senior Editor of Christianity Today) , And endorsed by Bailey Smith.

By the way what do you mean by "worst of Charismatic excess."
