I investigate people for myself instead of investigating them by what others are saying about them.
I do not go by second hand hearsay.

I am sick and tired and disgusted of people that write books slamming prosperity preachers and charging $29.95 for their books and letting people know that they have sold over 500,000 copies of their book.
I think the word "hypocrisy" applies !!!!!

Religious TV is the true name, most of it has nothing to do with true Christianity, I watch TBN when I want a laugh; but, then weep when I realize this network is sending people to hell with their false doctrine. What I have seen is ALL EMOTIONALISM!

There was one performer (can't call them preachers) so worked up in a frenzy his suit was soaked in sweat. He was just repeating the same thing over and over working the crowd into a frenzy...SICK AND VERY SAD INDEED.

I am not sure that I know who you are talking about.
I watch Christian Television and I just don't hear this.

Let me know who you are talking about and when to watch.
Do you watch these people on a regular basis so that you would hear these things?
</font>
Watch Kenneth Copeland sometime and see what you think. I have heard him call himself a little god . He comes on TBN, but I don't know the time. Maybe someone else does...
And what do you all think of Rod Parsley

Then investigate them. They have said and written some pretty bad stuff. All in their own words, noone has to add anything when it's as bad as some of them are.

?

Affraid I haven't seen one of these books. I've never paid that for a book. The few I bought I paid less then $10. for. And all was documented for anuone who wanted to look it up in the writtings of those who preach against God.

Susan, I've seen on his show several times. Sometimes I watch to see what hearsy they are teaching today.

Benny Hinn got caught paying people to fall down and be healed. Saw him admitt it himself on 700 club.

atestring,
I do not watch 700 club. I used to when I was a new christian and didn't know better. I started seeing too many unbiblical things on there it was just pitful what people were calling christian. Pat Robertson supports people who are not christian, who preach hearsey, and evil junk in the guise of being christian. He is as fake as can be. If he is as good as christian television gets, leave me out. I'll take the real God.

I must say that I think Ed Young is one of the finest preachers in America today. I really appreciate his call to the church for holiness. As for TBN...Col. Potter would call it 'hoo-hah'. I don't have much good to say about the 'Faith Movement Network'. I must say that EWTN, the Catholic channel, at least offers (whether one agrees with it or not)good teaching, and has some good programs on cults, new age, etc. I really don't watch much TV anyway. BTW, I just purchased a short movie called 'The Harvest' at my local Christian bookstore, and please, brothers and sisters, BUY THIS VIDEO! It was wonderful, and brought tears to my eyes.

There's definitely no shortage of false teachers and heresy on religious TV.

I have a channel called Ilife and they show a movie on Saturdays.....mostly by Christiano films

The moment after
the Pretender
End of the harvest
at first glance
pamelas prayer
late one night
the Vanishing

anyone have an opinion about Christiano films?

I like to watch the jewish Christian guy too. i cant think of his name but he is so sincere and gives info about the Jewish traditions, and he loves his Savior.

There are quite a few that seem not so good......Benny Hinn, 700 club, Creflo Dollar, who's always going on about money and riches.......Jack Van Impe, doomsday preacher.......... :(
I like Kay Arthur. I also like Joyce Meyer though I heard she is a modalist, and I am a trinitarian.

On "secular" TV: Touched by an Angel! anyone else love that show?

Did you mean Zola Levitt? Yeah, he's interesting, but I haven't watched enough to know his theology. I think it is helpful in understanding Judaism.

Last week I watched a five-part series on the sovereignty of God produced by Cross TV, one of the few openly Calvinistic broadcasters I've seen on the air.

It's obviously a Reformed Baptist organization, but there's little information at the Web site. Does anyone know more about these folks?

BTW, the series was broadcast on FamilyNet.

A modalist is one who doesn't believe that God is three persons -- the Father, Son and Holy Spirit -- but that they are different facets, or modes, of the one God.

What is a modalist?</font>
Check out Joycemeyers.org and look at her statement of faith and you will see that
Her view of the Trinity would be in line with the Hymn, 'Holy, Holy, Holy"

I don't think Joyce Meyer's a modalist, but even without the modalism heresy, she still has enough "questionable" (and I'm being charitable, here) teachings that Christians should probably just stay away from her, altogether.

Particularly disturbing to me is her acceptance and teaching of the "born again Jesus" heresy.

A few thoughts on Meyer from the Christian Research Institute:

I'm not sure what Joyce Meyer's beliefs are on the trinity.

It's the "manifested" that I'm not sure how to interpret: Does it just mean "appeared?" There is wiggle room, whether it was intended or not.

Compare to the Athanasian Creed:

Thanx for those links, Smoke-eater. I never could sit thru one of her "sermons", & now I know why.

"Pray the blood" ? What does that mean ?

I actually heard her say on TV once that people who are sick, are sick because they lack faith. What a lie!!!

How do so many thousands fall for the likes of her, Benny Hinn, T.D. Jakes...etc ? Sad.
