A friend told me the same story a couple years ago. He said he would have done the same thing with the honorary doctorate that the horse did.

Amen, Siegfried. Sorry to be so late in replying. I was enough to make you sick.

Give me that "Well done, good and faithful servant." That is the acclamation that I want. [IMG]

I was at a denominational meeting in '92 and one of the keynote speakers said something like this...

"I've noticed all these guys showing off their rings and asking what school and what degree/s each other have. I was asked today and told the one who asked the question this; "I have an AO degree from HSU !" When I said this everyone was looking around at each other trying to figure it out ! I finally gave them a reprieve and told them that I obtained my Absolute Obedience degree from Holy Spirit University and was quite proud of it."

He then prodeeded to tell us about how Jesus trained the disciples (12) and that the same Jesus will train us too if we let Him."

Why the big deal on "paperhangings" ?

I think it is really cool   just to serve and be obedient and let God get the glory. Besides; all that stuff clogs the brain ! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

The paperhangings thing is why I don't strive to have a doctorate, specifically. I want the structured environment of learning and studying, and if a piece of paper goes along with doing the work I want to do, so be it.

It depends on what you want to do with your career, whether or not you need paper. To do what I really want to do, I need to finish my BA and get my JD, but after that, anything else is gravy.

    Dr. Bob said:
Agree completely. I had to do that much writing to get through a single undergraduate history class.

But hey, the title's what's important, eh?

Who wants to be a doctor? Cheap and easy.
