Our church is starting a 40 day prayer program (during lent) using a booklet written by Steve Hawthorne of the WayMakers, and I am not familiar with this ministry.

What I do know is this ministry is supported by Mission America, The Lighthouse Movement, and Loving Our Communities to Christ!

    Any feedback is appreciated.

    Shalom,

    Pastor Paul :type:

Are they associated with the cult group "the Way?" If so, I'd steer clear of them, but I don't know if they are or not.

    I'd Say No!

From what I've read on line, I do not think they are in any way associated with the cult group you mentioned.

They seem to be a legit organization, with a heart for evangelizing the community and the world for Christ.

I was just hoping that one of you board members would have worked with them in the not too distant past!

Steve Hawthorne is "teaching elder" at Hope Chapel (charismatic) in Austin TX.

Here's a gem from WayMakers' Global Day of Prayer Organizer Guide (pdf file):
