Ask these folks if mere intellectual acceptance of the proposition that Christ died for them and loves them is sufficient for salvation.

If they don't believe this it is because in reality the love of God has no more meaning to them than a man falling in and out of love with a object. There view of the love of God is weak, they don't understand what the love of God really means. This is salvation, to know that God loves me.
