Does it honor God to break the Sabbath memorial of creation?

In Rev 14:7 we find that God says to "Worship Him who made the heavens and the earth the seas and the springs of waters".

In Ex 20:8-11 God speaks with His own voice - and states the TEN commandments "Written in stone" as well.

"Remember the Sabbath day to keep IT holy... 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed THE Sabbath day and made it holy."

God's WORD includes the statement and in Is 66:23 "From Sabbath to Sabbath" God says "All mankind shall come before Me to Worship" in the new heavens and new earth.

And Jesus in John 1 is stated to be the Creator - the MAKER of all

    John 1
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

So how is it that some imagine that war against Christ's own Sabbath memorial of HIS creative work - is "pleasing to God"??

Shall we "Worship Him who made the heavens and the earth the seas and the springs of waters". - by being at war with His own weekly day of worship setup as a memorial of HIS work in Creation?

    What are your thoughts?

(Of course I already know that the Seventh-day Baptists will agree with this - but what about others?)

    In Christ,

    Bob

My thoughts are Bob, you have been shown many times that even you cannot keep the Sabbath as prescribed in the Bible. Don't you think if you are going to preach Sabbath Keeping that you ought yourself make sure you are in compliance??

Maybe it would be instructive if you would prepare a list of the rules for Sabbath Keeping found throughout the scriptures. Then we can take a look at them and see if we all can comply.

So my question for you is what do you believe about people who worship in Sunday, are they saved or not saved?

But then, a real look at the dissident group called SDA one finds they do not believe the former and that they also deny the deity of Christ.

They do however worship a woman, and talk of her more often than even Christ, who is in fact a false prophetess, namely Ellen G White, who has been proven to have made many false prophecies.

I was flipping through the channels last night and landed on the SDA station. I don't know what program was running, but there was an old feller who was the up coming preacher taking some questions from another man. The questions were sent in from viewers I guess, or the audience that evening. One of the questions for him was "there are so many churches out there, how do I know which one to choose?". His answer was, and I must paraphrase here, that there are only two types of churches out there. 1) the church that preaches come to Jesus and obey his commandments, and 2) the church that preaches come to Jesus and do whatever you please. I thought how deceitful to say such a thing to a seeker of God. I didn't hang around to here him preach, I heard enough.

There was also a question on the ten commandments and whether or not they were around before Moses gave them. He said the fact that there was sin around from the beginning proves the commandments also had to be right there also from the beginning.

No group consists of "All saved" or "all lost".

I thought we all were on the same page on that one.

    Back to the Bible.

How is it pleasing to the Creator to toss His own Creation-memorial Sabbath under a bus?

    Or is it?

    in Christ,

    Bob

    A. that is not even remotely true.

    B. Romans 8 deals with your complaint about the Law of God --

    C. You are not responding to the texts in the OP or the points made - you are just complaining about your own dislike of the 4th commandment. That is not Bible study. Sola Scriptura testing of doctrine is a better model.

I thought we all were on the same page there.

Romans 8 on the common complain/rant that God does not give His saints the ability to do anything but rebel against His Word.

    Rom 8
6 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, 7 because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, 8 and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

It makes no sense for born-again Christians to argue in favor of the case for 'does not subject itself to the LAW of God" and 'Not even ABLE to do so" given the text of Romans 8.

    in Christ,

    Bob

I still think it would be instructive if you define from the scriptures for us what it means to keep the Sabbath. Then we can answer your OP. Or at least I can maybe.

Warring against the Sabbath - (war against the Law of God) according to Paul in Romans 8 takes the form

And so -- It makes no sense for born-again Christians to argue in favor of the case for 'does not subject itself to the LAW of God" and 'Not even ABLE to do so" given the text of Romans 8.

Can we at least get to the easy part first? or is this going to be a reject-all step by step?

One of the clear Bible texts you are carefully ignoring from the OP is this reference -

God's WORD includes the statement and in Is 66:23 "From Sabbath to Sabbath" God says "All mankind shall come before Me to Worship" in the new heavens and new earth.

I believe that a number of Bible students will see in that text - a hint about how to keep the Sabbath. Objective unbiased readers at least. And while some have stated that they are confident such readers are not at BB - I am convinced they are. In fact I believe there are some Sunday keeping Christians here who see this in a similar light regarding the Sabbath day and worship.

    This is the easy part.

    in Christ,

    Bob

You have to define "breaking the Sabbath" for us Bob, then we can answer. If it's just about worshipping God, well, I do that 7 days a week. So do you have anything else??

A good first step in honoring God and His Word would be the dismantling of the SDA's and all their associated subgroups.

You hold the Bible texts I am quoting at too great a distance as if you think I am God- or the Pope- and you are Catholic and need not actually read the Bible until I tell you what to think.

Just exactly how is it that you think that solution is working for you?

Who here do you imagine to be buying it??

Why not actually deal with the texts you are so carefully avoiding and holding at a distance. Did you completely reject sola scriptura when it comes to the Commandments of God??

    really??

    in Christ,
    Bob

In the dark ages the Catholic church thought that would be the right way to avoid sola scriiptura discussions as well.

It is not the first time that solution has been suggested - simiply "dismantle" whatever group is bringing up a Bible text that you don't want to deal with and thus avoid having to deal with the actual Bible texts in the thread.

Not at all a "new idea'.

But not everyone here will go for that thinking.

I think we all know that.

    in Christ,

    Bob

OK, the man was on again last night. Ron Halverson is his name. I listened to him for about an hour and he touched on quite a few doctrinal points, some biblical and some not.

But what really jumped out at me is he went into a passionate 5 min fist pounding in the palm preaching that it is by grace alone through faith alone that we are saved and there is absolutely nothing, nothing we can do to add to what Jesus Christ has accomplished for us that we might please God and be saved!!! I was shocked, and the reason being is because you BobRyan, a fellow SDA with this man, are always arguing against those here who preach Faith Alone for justification.

He also wrapped his faith alone message up with this quote; "We don't keep the ten commandments to get saved, we keep the ten commandments because we are saved". Which is exactly what every Christian on here believes and preaches except for maybe two (and who would that be?). He also added that keeping the commandments do NOT keep us saved!!

I did not ask about groups. I asked you if you believe that those people (individuals apart from any "group" designation) who do not worship on Saturday are truly born again? Yes or no?

Speaking of born-again, Halverson (SDA Preacher) preached that the only way a person gets regenerated is through water baptism by immersion. He said these people who stand up and say they believe, "well that doesn't cut it". He actually said this after his fist pounding sermon on grace alone through faith alone, go figure???. We know that ye must be born-again to be saved (John3) so I wonder what happens to all of those death bed proclamations of faith in Jesus Christ, or those pinned down in a fox hole calling on Jesus Christ to save them, but no water around to be found and they perish. I gather from this pov that the SDA church doesn't bother with witnessing to those who are very close to death and would have no opportunity to be baptized.
