    And this is what too many scholars who have never served as pastors don't understand. Love this sentence.

    I had a conversation with a dear friend who is a seminary prof and does a healthy amount of pulpit supply. He was adamant that getting to the preached word is the primary education a seminarian must do. I disagreed vigorously. He had no awareness of pastoral ministry, how could he?
