Boy Howdy Wow the only way you can say she didn't hit a grandslam would be to tell a fib.

She did well! That said I believe the evening was equal over all. I do not agree with Biden's policies but as far as debating neither was superior to the other.

Palin won because she didn't loose. She did very well which is good for their ticket.

I noticed neither of them really answered the question that was asked. I guess that's how these debates go.

I also thought the Moderator was unbiased. Not sure why she was attacked.

do not know when she was attacked but there were legitimate questions asked about her ability to be fair and unbiased based on her recent book due to be released on inauguration day. She did a good job.

You are wrong - nobody won that debate.

BTW, that book was common knowledge before the debate..............

I will be glad to just defer to you. It is highly difficult to compete with arguments like:

    1. hmmmmm
    2. Rush said that
    3. Hannity said that

Given your grand wisdom and highly skilled debate tactics you win.

There were those who called for her to step down.

Because she is writing a book doesn't make her biased one way or another and I think she proved that tonight.

She was certainly fair but calling for her to step down is reasonable and not an attack. It worked out in the end. I have watched her a great many times and I personally never thought she would be anything but fair.

Gwen Ifill seemed very fair. I had really never heard of her before, but I had heard all good reports about her being fair, impartial. I do think however, she should have brought the subject of her book and its estimated release date of Inauguration Day to the attention of the Debate Commission when they asked her to moderate.

    Ditto...

I will say Biden missed a golden opportunity, when Palin talked about him being for the war then against the war basically implying Washington insiders are funny.

Biden should have said she knows very well about being for then against so she will fit right in.

I guess that's what debates are about. You win some and you loose some.

If Biden had run off the stage in tears crying for his mommy, you still wouldnt admit that he lost.

If you can contradict what MediaMatters reports, then by all means show us where they got it wrong.......

That is quite an assumption on your part, based on the fact that we have never met and had little contact. Read what I wrote: I never made the claim that Biden won. Quite the contrary, I said that nobody won. You even reproduced my statement!

How in the world could you make such an observation like this, unless you cannot comprehend the point I made?

Come on - you're better than this,

    Sorry, I had posts crossed.

McCain has admitted to knowing about the book, but said he felt Gwen could be fair. And she was.

I thought you were saying MM called the debate for Biden. My apologies.

But yer still wrong about everything else.

Did you see my response on the biking thread ? Sounds like you may spend more on your tires than I do.....

does anybody around here know how to spell the word that means "to not win" ????

It is LOSE - not loose.

You LOSE a debate, you don't loose it.

Well, jus' bless all your little hearts! :love2: :love2:

My son and I watched some of this but my son(age 26) got disgusted because Biden and Palin didn't really answer questions. He also pointed out that it was not really a debate so they shouldn't call it that.

Then he went to my computer and found an article about how the League of Women Voters withdrew support from these debates (I think in '88) because the corporate sponsorship of these "debates" made them a "charade."

My son is jaded at 26! What could I say - I really couldn't disagree with him.
