I'm still trying ot get my mind around this. You really are saying that you would have rather had the limited human resources available involved in rounding up dogs than human search and rescue operations. That's amazing.

What part of "there are organizations that exclusively do animal rescue in these situations such as Noah's Wish, the Humane Society of the United States, etc. Therefore, no diversion of the resources from human rescue are required." do you not understand?

I agree. That's what the animal rescue organizations are there for.

He was murdered by his own people. Perhaps he was wrong about moral progress of a nation.

No. It's just that mankind hasn't exactly distinguished itself by its actions since Adam and Eve blew it.

The part where you send people into a disaster area looking for dogs while there may be people about to die. That's the part I don't understand.

Okay. Let me try again to explain it to you.

Organizations such as Noah's Wish, HSUS, etc., exclusively handle animal rescues. In fact, Noah's Wish exclusively does nothing but animal rescues in disaster areas.

Therefore, these are not resources that would be used for human rescues. Nothing that anyone is advocating would take any resources away from the rescuing of humans.

I'm behind you, Buddy, keep preaching it, Ken! [IMG]

The mind set we are seeing here is a product of a disposable society in which even unborn humans are disposable. The "disposable" mentality trickles down to pets, relationships, and every area of life.

Poor little scared lonely Pitt Bull. I'm with Ken. Either my dogs go with me or I don't go.

When I think of this disaster, I think of the human life gone, & the economic damage to the country. I can't find one tear for the dogs.

Are you guys mad at God for Noah's flood ? I'm sure billions of innocent critters drowned in that episode.

We are not discussing acts of God, and I'm not going to try to find an excuse for the cruel acts perpetrated by a sub-human(s).

We can care about human suffering and animal suffering. The feelings are not mutually exclusive.

The economic damage can be repaired over time.

The humans that died can't be brought back, and neither can the pets - not even the ones killed by the cruel acts of a sub-human(s).

Whoever perpetrated this dog massacre should receive this [IMG] after being convicted - hang 'em. Hang 'em high!

I would think that all those people working for Noahs Wish and the Humane Society should have been out rescuing people during a devastation like this! Since they are trained to rescue animals I'm sure they would know how better than some.

What a human/economic tragedy Ninevah might have been, and yet God had a tear reserved for the cattle.

Have you even considered how the horrific loss of thee sweet, faithful animals added to the human suffering? I can replace my house, my car, my stuff. But how do I replace my dog? My heart just aches for the folks who lost their innocent pets.

Last week I had to kill a rattle snake because he had invaded my driveway and endangered my family and pets. It wasn't his fault. He was just hunting rats and mice. (I live in the country.)

I was physically sick. He was a beautiful animal. I hated that he had to die.

I was not that way when I was young. I killed everything that moved with my BB gun and my .22 and got a kick out of it.

But as I studied it, I became sensitive. I hate killing anything uselessly and won't unless it is absolutely necessary.

Animal life isn't worth as much as a human but it is still valuable. When God set man's redemption in motion, I know he had the fallen creation in mind because the Bible says that creation groans for that redemption.

We are stewards. We should value all life. When you eat a steak, do you appreciate that something had to die so you could enjoy that fine meal? It is not either/or. Katrina, the tsunami, Noah's flood, they were tragic on many human as well as non-human levels.

    lacy

PS. To me it's a lot more tragic that some dogs were killed than it is that some whorehouses and casinos got flattened.

This is horrible news. The people who did this should pay dearly for these deeds. In fact, long prison sentences would be in order if I were on the jury that convicted them.

Now there's a man whos sayings we should follow. NOT

You yet again declare that your life and others are no more important and perhaps even less important than animals. Do you think the Lord honors that set of values?

It probably took someone of character to put them out of their misery, as many would have allowed them to starve, or dehydrate, by simply leaving.

    1) I have done no such thing. Either prove your charge or retract it.

    2) It took one sick sub-human to perform such a despicable action. May God have mercy on anyone who tries to excuse this action.

By the way, hillclimber, regarding Gandhi - some non-Christians are more moral than some Christians.
