Any time a new administration comes into office, there will be some complaining about the new president’s cabinet picks. But we’re seeing something extraordinary happening now. Donald Trump’s cabinet brings with it a combination of ethical problems, inexperience, hostility to the missions of the departments its members are being called to lead, and plain old ignorance that is simply unprecedented.

This is shaping up to be nothing less than the worst cabinet in American history.

I won't go to the inauguration, but I will watch his speech. I believe that is a civic duty of all citizens. I am hoping and praying that he will surprise me and be a good president. That really is my hope and prayer. My fear is that he will be as bad or worse than I expect.

His cabinet picks have not encouraged me. He has nominated people whose primary claim to fame is being rich and tied to Wall Street. Remember during the campaign how he railed about that type of person and criticized Hillary for her ties to Wall Street. Obviously that was simply a campaign gimmick.

    I pray for the best.

    I fear the worse.

Look CTB those of us who voted for him and support him are very hopeful that at the end of the first 100 days people who hate him will have warmed up a little anyway.

Thanks for at least hoping for the best.

Hank, that is my hope also. It is not my expectation.

    • But he has filled his cabinet with billionaires who have made much of they money harming other people.
    • He has filled his cabinet with Wall Street folk, the very people he damned during his campaign.
    • He had filled his cabinet people who are often quite ignorant of the work of the areas they are to manage.
    • He has filled his cabinet with people who do not like the agencies they are to manage.
    • He has filled his cabinet with people who have harmed the working man/woman ... the very people who put Trump in office.
As I said, I hope and pray for the best. I fear the worst. I hope and pray that I am wrong.

Salty, nope, don't remember it. Of course since I watch little TV. 1968-70 was an era when I was too busy to hardly think about watching TV.

Just curious Salty, what is your point in mentioning this TV show.

The TV Show was entitled "It takes a thief" "Alexander Mundy - smooth, suave, sophisticated - is the world's greatest cat burglar. Finally arrested after years of pilfering, he strikes a deal with American agent Noah Bain: a full pardon if Mundy agrees to use his skills to steal for the SIA, an American espionage agency. "

    OK.
Which ones have harmed others and do you have names of any of these people which they have harmed or is this an unsubstantiated talking point?
When he vetted them they had been informed of their new responsibilities and demeanor and agreed to their new responsibilities and requirements (you have made unsubstantiated claims, then so can I).
Yes there are quite a few non-establishment selectees.
Yes,The agencies which need to be revamped perhaps even eliminated.
CTB - Again even if that is true you don’t know if they have altered their thinking and future methodology (at Trumps bequest) in their public office as opposed to private.

    Ohhhh, don't we know it!

So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows [Matthew 10:31].
I'd like to do a poll about how many sparrows you are worth, but I'm sure it would be censored.

The word is not in his vocabulary. The meanness and pettiness of the man came through during his inauguration speech.

Just understand there is no such thing as public opinion, only published opinion, and in every case one must consider the source.
