After 18 months a member here and more than 11,000 posts I am still astounded at the things God's people find to fight each other over.

MY house. MY family. MY privacy. MY TIME. ME ME ME ME ME ME ME.

    Can you say, "Self Centered"?

    I KNEW you could.

Thanks Craig for revealing your true motivation.

For one to equate legitimate evangelisation to "invasion of privacy" is beyond me.

(Scenario: Judgement Seat of Christ.) "But Jesus! It is a sin to witness to people about the terrible price you paid for their soul on their door step! They might have been doing something REALLY important!"

I have seen it all now.

    In HIS service;
    Jim

Some people are very much offended when I post the truth about sin. Some of them even resort to willfully distorting my position against sin by suggesting that my position is the opposite of what it really is. My point in my posts in this thread was three fold,

    1. It is very rude to knock on the door of an individual or family that you do not know and who may be very displeased by you presence. Their door belongs to them—not you!

    2. Doorknocking is a favorite sin of the Mormons, the J.W.’s, and other non-Christians cults. Christians should have no part in this sin.

    3. We get plenty of opportunities to share the gospel with others WITHOUT SINNING AGAINST OUR NEIGHBORS.

There is nothing more important than sharing the Gospel with others, but in ALL that we do it is imperative that we walk in the Spirit and NOT in the flesh. Anyone who knocks on doors at random or according the instructions of a man on the basis of a map grid is most certainly walking in the flesh rather than in the Spirit—and that is sinning against God Himself!

But what else other than false accusations should we expect from those who teach the utterly false doctrine that ONLY the King James TRANSLATION OF the Bible is God’s inspired word. Never in the history of the church has anyone taught a more serious error, demonstrating the grossest possible disrespect for truth and honesty, bringing more disrepute to the Gospel and the Christian faith than all the other false doctrines put together.

How very many countless thousands of souls are in the very fires of hell today because of false teachers of the Bible, who through their wickedness, have undone the soul-winning efforts of faithful, honest, and true believers in our Savior and His Word.

“The wages of sin is death.” The wages of sin is death whether we are driving under the influence or walking in flesh going from door to door disturbing the occupants under the deception of the devil that we are doing God’s bidding by sinning against our neighbor.

“The wages of sin is death.” You can spin it anyway you want to, but the truth remains—“The wages of sin is death.”

How true and how sad. </font>[/QUOTE]How many people are in the fires of hell today because of Christians who sinned against them through their blatant disrespect for them and their property?

Some Christians share the Gospel with others; other Christians share their disrespect for others and give the Gospel a bad name.

What subject is MORE important than sharing the Gospel with others in FULL obedience to the Word of God?

Matt. 22:35. One of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him,
    36. "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?"
    37. And He said to him, " 'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.'
    38. "This is the great and foremost commandment.
    39. "The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'
    40. "On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets."
    (NASB, 1995)

Craig, you keep trying to justify to yourself your argument. In the meantime you have provided absolutely NO sound Biblical proof that knocking on someone's door to share the Gospel with them is "sinning against your neighbor".

I don't need to justify to myself that walking onto my neighbor's property without his express permission is a sin. I don't need to justify to myself that disturbing my neighbor and his family is a sin. I don’t need to justify to myself that disrespecting the values and wishes of my neighbor is a sin. I KNOW that these things are sins. The end does NOT justify the means. The means is sinful. The end can be accomplished, and needs to be accomplished, through means that are not sinful.

It is my opponents in this thread who are trying in vain to justify their sin by arguing that they are doing what they are doing for the sake of the Gospel under the misconception that the end justifies the means when, in fact, it does not. There is absolutely no precedent in the New Testament for sinning to accomplish a higher good. The consequences of sin are NEVER good—they are always destructive. Satan may delude some into imagining that the consequences of their sin are good, but that is merely a delusion of the enemy.

Personal righteousness is accomplished only through faith in Christ and walking in the Spirit. And our personal righteousness convicts others of their sin and their need for a savior and opens the door for witnessing WITHOUT knocking on any doors and WITHOUT disturbing our neighbors. Sinful behavior on the part of Christians only serves to show the sinner that there is no salvation in Christ.

Disrespecting one’s neighbor—regardless of the reason—is a sin. No one who truly loves his neighbor is going to disrespect his neighbor and his property, his values, and his wishes.

Millions of Americans have fought for their right not to be disturbed by telephone solicitors—absolute proof that millions of Americans do NOT want to be disturbed by strangers when they are eating dinner, praying, having family devotions, watching television, listening to their stereo, or doing countless other things that they have the inalienable right to do without being disturbed by strangers.

Wow, I cannot post on this thread any longer, I just really cannot believe this ... It is truly sad to see what some people will do to justify things to themselves.

I know of no faster way
to damn a soul to eternal Hell Fire than to
    invade their private space (sanctuary).

This week we ended a trial by jury a Guilty
verdict against a 63-year-old man who blew
away a 32-year-old man because of road rage.
Come 10-15 years of good behavior and the
shooter can move from the prison to the
    rest-home.

Once long ago when i was MAKING AN APPOINTED VISIT
IN A HOME their huge 120 pound dog (I was
no more than 120 myself at the time) reached
his paws on the chest of my suit coat and
gave me a lick. I said "remember what God did
    for Daniel
in the Lions Den". The two guys i was with,
one said "but you Daniel" and the other said
"and that ain't no Lion". Well that was long
ago and dry cleaning was only 2$ a suit (did i
mention it was a LONG TIME AGO [IMG] )

    Scenario,

You walk up to the door at 4227 Apple Blossom Lane and knock on it because it is on the block assigned to you by your team leader. The dog inside the house goes ballistic because you are trespassing and the 94-year-old Christian lady in the house dies of a heart attack because of the dog’s ballistics.

You murdered the poor woman before she got the opportunity to share her testimony the following Sunday to a Christian youth group where 12 young people would have been saved had you simply behaved yourself and respected your neighbor and her property and her inalienable right not to be disturbed. And now you are guilty of murdering a 94-year-old Christian lady and the damnation of 12 souls who would have been saved if you had been walking in the spirit (and been where you really should have been) instead of walking in the flesh.

    Ed,

Thank you for your post [IMG] ! I am very glad to see that I am not the only Baptist who still believes that sin is sin.
