Come to think of it, maybe I should have sent it out to five friends to take revenge for the email forwards they sent me constantly in college. ;)

When I was in high school, my parents encouraged me to sing whenever I was invited to a community event or church. I always did a Christian song, and so after hearing me at a community thing, a woman asked if I would like to come sing at their church. I told her sure, without finding out where.

I was uncomfortable when I got there. After "worship" which included several Beatles songs... "He loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah..." I got up to sing my little song.

In the middle of my song, a woman in the back of the room sprang up, started barking, and running around the room. I didn't know whether to be offended or laugh. It certainly startled me, and I forgot my words. It was about 25 seconds until I regained my composure.

When I finished I walked down the platform and past my seat out through the back door. I called my dad on the way home... I'd never been so shocked in a church service.

Now, I've sung that song since that time, and never had that response, so I know it's not me or the song. Whew!

Was this recently? Is that guy still around? I guess it's been many years since James Randi exposed him.

A fool and his money are soon parted.

Hilarious! It's amazing what some people think Christianity is. I just read this to my wife and she said, "That was some strange church!" And it was!! [IMG]

My wife once ordered a movie from John Hagee and before we even received the tape were had gotten several pieces of mail asking for donations.

We have also received the prayer rug.

That's why it's important to have a repertoire of all styles of music...an arrangement of "Who Let the Dogs Out" would have fit in nicely there.

    :D
