Thus far, after watching the one debate, watching most of the candidates in interviews on shows such as O'Reilly, Hannity, The Kelly file, and checking out various candidate official websites I think I am leaning toward Dr. Ben Carson. I would be interested on what anyone has to say regarding him either pro/con. Also, who are you leaning toward (if anyone) and why?

I like what I see of Carson. He seems very intelligent and thoughtful. That can sometimes be a negative for a leader, however, as people like this seem to be caught in a paralysis by analysis. Hopefully he isn't like that. Not sure as a neurosurgeon if he has any ER training, but that would be helpful do dispel the problem of inaction.

I'm not wild about a flat tax, which he advocates, since it would be a net tax increase for almost every one with an income of $100,000 or less and the biggest tax cut for the wealthy in history.

Of course he's got almost no foreign policy experience, but plenty of candidates go into the presidency without much of it.

Right now I'm leaning toward Rubio. He's smart, articulate, and has a youthful energy that would contrast nicely with Hillary (if she's the Dem nominee). He could deliver Florida for the Republicans. He has a nice backstory of rags to riches story that would play well with the middle class. He could help the Reps with the Latino vote.

I also like Scott Walker. He's got a great record of accomplishment in Wisconsin and has won every election he's been involved in. I don't think he would attract the minority voters, though.
He comes off as a bit boring, however, and lacks the charisma of Rubio.

I think a Rubio/Carson ticket would be a great ticket.

Based on what little I know about Carson and his politics, I like him. Do I think that he is Presidential material? As much as I thought that Obama was...

Even though I'm not a Republican, I'd say that Dr. Ben Carson does have a lot of good ideas on domestic issues, but he doesn't seem to have a highly-developed set of issues on the foreign-policy side.

While he certainly has plenty of time to develop a good foreign policy position, he needs to do so quickly because a lot of his GOP opponents have had years of experience dealing with other nations' foreign issues.

Only time will tell if Dr. Carson will finally be able to overcome this, and thus be able to clinch the GOP's presidential candidacy.

This whole field, both sides, is a mess.

I'd be plugging for Carly Fiorina if I were a Republican.

I actually like the flat tax idea Carson is proposing. It is true it would be a tax raise for me and others who make less thank $100K, but I think the wealthy who receive the cut would likely reinvest the money in the market and business expansion, thus creating more jobs and opportunities for people who are less wealthy, this would in turn increase the number of people paying withholding tax by decreasing unemployment resulting in more tax revenue that can be spent on such things as national defense. Also, the flat tax due to it's simplicity would get rid of the need to have the IRS (though it would still be needed to some degree for the corporate income tax), thereby saving even more money and cutting down on government bureaucracy.

I need to learn more about Rubio, but he does seem like an intelligent man. I heard him talking how immigrant born citizenship could not be annulled due to it needing a constitutional amendment. I like the fact he is realistic about this, unlike Trump proposing things that are impossibilities. I just wish the there weren't so many candidates running because it limits the amount of time each candidate has in the debate, thus it is hard to get to know their views. Also, I noticed nearly every, if not all candidates, lack a lot of specifics regarding their positions on their official websites. They all just seem to contain general statements. The last time I checked Donald Trump's website he had his position on only one issue-immigration, however I will give him credit in that he gave specifics.

Dr. Carson is a fine person!

He is a political novice and there is too much at stake to nominate a novice. Look for him to stay around and be at the GOP convention in a year. No matter what, since Dr. Carson is retired from medicine, he will always have an audience in the GOP.

The Idiot who the democrats elected twice had no experience except that of a street walker. The $8-10 trillion in additional debt and the contempt that other countries have for Obama and the US prove the truth of that statement.

I am not leaning towards anyone at this time, but I do not believe that Dr. Carson has the political skills to deflect Hillary's dirty tricks, and the Democrats are saying that Hillary will be the nominee. Both Hillary and Biden would smear Dr. Carson in a New York minute (is that the expression?).
