As an old tax protestor I assure you all that the only way to beat the revenuers is to deal 100% in cash and not have any proprerty of great value or to make large contributions to both political parties.

In an elected representative society, the proper procedure to deal with laws you want changed is to support candidates who agree with you or to voice your concerns to your representative. If there is enough agreement with your cause, the laws will get changed.

The incorrect way to deal with laws you want changed is to take the law into your own hands.

A point well made but ignored by whom it was addressed is this:

If it is wrong for Hovind to protest illegal taxes, then it was wrong for our founding Fathers to have protested King George.
You cannot have it both ways and be consistent. IMO.

I contend that both were wrong. 288 years is rediculous, but so was the War of the Rebellion.

I noticed someone post Rom. 13 in defense of the prosecution in this case, but I have cited the same passage in opposition to the men who rebelled against their lawful King to establish this nation.
Should you choose Rom 13 against Hovind, then you MUST choose Rom 13 AGAINST the men of 1776 in America.

So be it. This is not where you want to take your stand. However, a Christian brother found this to be grievous and is where he desired to take his. Fellow Christians might consider supporting his efforts rather than railing against him more than they rail against the entity that does not honor God.

It's not an insinuation for sake of insinuation. The reality is, progressive taxation of the citizenry is not part of the US Constitution but is a plank of the communist manifesto. When you defend these taxes and attack a brother who is taking a stand against them, you are defending an element of communism and are opposing an element of a constitutional republic.
