Stop calling me Slick. If you cannot address me in a polite manner, don't address me at all.

Yet another repetition of an assertion without evidence. If I were your debate teacher, you'd get an F.

The Biblical command was given showing abstinence. You choose to ignore it.

And if I were your teacher in Bible 101, you would get an F.

It doesn't take rocket science to know that it is alcoholic wine in that goblet.

Found the website where you got the photo--and it is a site for Wine Tours--so how come you can't tell if it's fermented? You are being facetious, arrogant and sarcastic in your remarks--and you know for a fact that that wine was fermented because it has already deceived you and you are the one who is not wise.
Yes, tinytim, alcohol is UGLY--it deceived my late husband and my husband's brother--they are both dead--the cause of their death is ALCOHOL--it is indeed UGLY!

Have you ever seen anybody drink himself to death? It's not a pretty sight. And just to think it all started with the first drink--somebody telling them that drinking moderately is okay--just like some on this thread are doing.

Magnetic Poles: try this This is the site where you got the photo for your link.

Actually, I know of a number of doctors who have prescribed a small drink in the case of severe pain. A dear friend of mine has severe nerve pain and the only medications that controlled it were very strong and addicting. The doctor told her to try a 1/2 a wine cooler and see if it helped and it cut the pain significantly. She now drinks a 1/2 a wine cooler twice a week, and it's decreased her pain by a tremendous amount - without any addiction (kind of hard to get hooked on a wine cooler - no less a 1/2 a one twice a week). This pain will never go away. It's either severely strong drugs that will destroy her liver much faster, or a 1/2 a wine cooler twice a week.

SFIC - I want to say that often times, those who are most vocal against something are those who have been touched by that thing in a very hard way. I have not had anyone die of cirrhosis - and I come from an Irish Catholic family (drinkers). Out of everyone in the family, there was one drunk - and he died of a heart attack at 81. But I do want to say that I'm so sorry about the loss of your brother. That must have been so difficult for you to have watched him deteriorate over the years. Please accept my condolences. While I do not agree with your Bible interpretation, I understand your anger and vehemence over this subject.

So far we have 42 Christians that don't beleive Drinking Alcohol is a sin, and only 10 that do....

    That speaks volumes.

Yes, it sure does. However, that doesn't mean that those 42 Christians are correct nor does it change the facts. The majority or minority of the people aren't going to sway God's Word.

Psalms 119:89 LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

    AnnSni,

I am not being vocal because of my brother as you seem to believe. If you remember correctly, I was just as vocal last year. My brother did not go into the hospital sick until June of this year and I did not hear about him being in the hospital until the first week of July. I had not seen my brother in over 20 years although we had talked a few times over the phone and he had told me he had quit drinking. After his death, I found that he had never given up his drinking.

So, no, my vocalization on the subject has nothing to do with my brother. It has to do with truth. Many are being lied to that God permits alcohol in moderation. Many lives are being destroyed because of those lies. And the sad thing is... it is people who call themselves Christians who are placing those stumbling blocks in front of hundreds if not thousands who read these threads.

Yes, God does command abstinence, and no, not all reap the consequences of drinking in this life... but they will certainly reap the consequences in the next.

And just because you or anyone else may know doctors who prescribe alcohol for daily or weekly pain does not mean it is right. Matter of fact, as I pointed out, Lemuel was told only to give alcohol to the dying.

For some reason no matter how streessed, down, or grumpy I've gotten, I've never gotten the temptation to drink or smoke...I guess it's because I'm hooked onto "self-gratification" that everything else doesn't look as enjoyable....

I wouldn't even be allowed to explain the term in a public forum...that's the point in using it; duh!

I have many more posts than this.

I don't drink because we are supposed to be sober at all times. Why drink if you can't get drunk? I like my Coca-cola just fine.

I like RC the best.

I agree. Why go for anything if you can't obtain the ultimate feeling out of it? RC is the best, thanks for the reminder. It's also cheaper than coke.
    I'll buy some tomorrow
