I saw the trailer for the movie today, and I gotta tell you, it don't look very good to me. Has anyone else seen the trailer? What did you think?

In the old TV series Daisy Duke did wear really "short" shorts, hence the slang term "Daisy Dukes". The way movie remakes of old TV shows are made now, I'm sure the humor will be more "adult" than the old TV show. I for one will not watch the movie because watching Jessica Simpson walk around showing a lot of skin doesn't do me (and my wife) is not what I should be watching. Matthew 5:28 comes to mind...

Probably not. I'm pretty careful of movies I see and this one doesn't appeal to me or my dh at all.

I am a HUGE Dukes fan, but I sure wish they would have left this one be and not done a modern movie.

I never thought the show was very good, so I probably won't enjoy the movie. However, if someone enjoyed the show, from what I hear, they'll probably like the movie. Dunno. Don't have any plans on seeing it myself.

As for "racy": c'mon, folks, why do you think Daisy Duke was in the original show? For cerebral consideration?

I can't bear to watch the movie. It has a "duh" quality.

</font>[/QUOTE]I loved the original tv show. But, I am not planning on seeing the movie. Yes, Daisy was racy for her time, but from what I have seen from the preview of the movie, they have really overdone it on the movie. They also make Bo and Luke out to be a bunch of idiots. I just think the casting is all wrong and they haven't caught the essence of the Dukes. I just don't think they are doing right by it.

I saw the trailer when I went to see "War of the Worlds". Jessica Simpson just doesn't do much for me. I guess I prefer the cute girl next door types in movies. [IMG]

Exactly. All of these actors strike me as snooty Hollywood types trying to act like the satire that they have always thought was country. It seems fake and phony. Kinda like when the rich liberal Kerry tried to convince all of us Southerners that he was one of us by going duck hunting. It just didn't work.

    From the article:

Sounds like a good reason to endorse the book. I like Ben Jones, even though he IS a Democrat. [IMG]

Yeah, I always liked the original show and the original cast. Just seeing the trailor for this new movie irritates me. lol I don't think I can bring myself to watch it. It kinda reminds me of the new Scooby Doo movie, didn't see that either. [IMG]

I heard there was a lot of cursing in it and fans of the tv show have been disappointed.

    JGrubbs,
I heard Ben Jones criticize the movie on Fox News about ten day to over two weeks ago. That concivnced me that I had no buisness seing the movie.

But once Ben Jones admitted that he had been turned down for a part in the movie...to me his credibility on the matter disappeared.

As my wife pointed out, the original cast really has no business trying to take the moral high ground in regards to this movie.
