The President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, spoke at the recent meeting of the Organization of American States in Panama.

Correa, considered the most charismatic leader of the Bolivarian republics (Cuba, Venezuela, Ecuador, Nicaragua, and Bolivia), outlined the classic communist complaints against the USA. He tried to justify his censorship of the press in Ecuador by saying that the press was in the hands of some old families in Ecuador and that they were obsolete.

It remains to be seen if he can win another election. Fidel Castro promised elections in Cuba in 1959 but they have never been held. Venezuela's recent election was considered to have been stolen by Maduro after the death of Chavez. Ortega in Nicaragua is getting old, also, and is considered a child molester. In Bolivia, Morales was a drug grower before becoming president. All of these states are tottering on economic collapse as communism does not work.
