When folks are predicting how a state will apply their electoral votes are they taking into account Obama's lawsuits against the state in question?

Are there states that tend go Dem that will be in question this year because of the lawsuits?

Election lawsuits are mostly hyperbole. Nobody wants to be in the party that sues to get their guy (or girl) into office. It has a negative effect the following election cycle.

I am not talking about election lawsuits. I am talking about Obama's obsession with suing states that have policies he does not agree with. For example, suing AZ for enacting a law that uses language of the federal law to enforce immigration laws.

Don't know the answer to your post. My question is can and will delegates to the Electoral College be "threatened" or bought off. Nothing surprises me with this administration in power, especially knowing how they cheated Hillary. Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

There is nothing in the Consititution that dictates how electors to the electoral college are chosen, how the votes are awarded, and with the exception of very few states that have penalties for faithless electors, they are free to vote for whomever they choose.

In most states, except Nebraska and Maine, the winner of the popular vote gets all of the states electoral votes. However, as said above, the elector chosen is under no obligation to vote for the person he or she is pledged to. In another twist, a state, at anytime, could change the way the electoral votes are awarded. For example, California could decide to award its electoral votes based on the outcome of the national vote. Another state could make it proportional, sort of like Nebraska and Maine.

If there is a tie of 269-269, it would only take one faithless elector to elect the President and keep it out of the House.

Speaking of the electoral college, the number of delegates from each state are awarded according to the census. Since the census doesn't ask if you are here legally or illegally, the population of each state is comprised of all, legal and illegal. So in that respect, even though illegals are not lawfully able to vote, their mere presence in this country affects how many electors are awarded to each state, so in essence, that can determine the outcome of the election, as well.

Don't know if I explained it properly. A fellow was on Cspan the other morning who explained it.

Oops, I meant to say Obama does not care about the 10th amendment

Lady Eagle - I think you explained the illegal alien situational very well.
We need to see Congress correct this situation.

I apologize if i wasn't clear in my OP. I understand the basic workings of the electoral college. What I am thinking is that the opinions of the pundits, those talking heads that are now telling us how states may go, may be impacted by Obama's lawsuits. For example, let's assume Michelle Malkin is discussing Arizona with Anderson Cooper. Cooper insists that AZ will go to Obama based on whatever he chooses to base his assumption on. Michelle then argues that AZ will go for Romney because the people in that state, including its electors, are angry about being sued by Obama.

Or how it (BO's "gophers") just somehow convinced those c. half dozen congresspeople to "go against their consciences" and wind up voting to support ObamaCare?

SURELY, SURELY there was never any "arm-twisting ("WALLET-enriching" [!!??!!]) done then, now was there?:tonofbricks:

Why so sinical??? (notice the word sin in it). We all know that Republicans and Democrats run for elected office for the glory of God.
