I propose eliminating all national currencies with a "universal work hour," abbreviated "uh."

One uh would be the economic equivalent of one person using a pick and shovel for an hour. This would be an easy conversion for every nation and country in the world. In the USofA, one uh would probably be around $8/hour. Every govt knows what the equivalent in their country would be. Wages and purchases would be in fractions and multiples of uh. One advantage would be that every person could evaluate his job and his expenses in terms of his personal life's energy.

Still trying to think of a way to eliminate property rights and individual liberties concerning enterprise, huh?

There are temptations and sins associated with wealth. However, wealth and in particular personal ambition/industry are not sinful in and of themselves.

Looks to me like this is just money by a different name--a global currency.

I wish I knew more about economics. I don't see that you would be able to set the value of this unit to be the same everywhere. Certain types of labor are going to be valued more or less in certain locations. For instance, in the US we might value one hour of digging a ditch at 1 uh, but maybe there's some place where ditch-diggers are valued at 5 uh an hour (because they need many foxholes, for instance!) Likewise someone in a technical job might be paid 5 uh here, but in a less developed nation their work might only be worth 2 uh.

    Which is?

Yes, a global money system. "Money" is only a legal fiction for keeping score in the game of life.

Actually a version of this may be feasable. Lets see: A master computer system hooked up to implants in every human being on the globe, would go a long way towards elimination lost people, illicit drug trade, errors in account reconciliations, etc.

Now then: Maybe the implants could be in the forehead, or the back of the right wrist, and the decision made that it will be the absolute only way commerce may be accomplished. Gee it sounds real good.

It's a term used in the United Nations Conference on Human Settlements. Habitat II.

The Habitat II Document is a strategic plan to set up all of the machinery, commissions and policing mechanisms to ensure that the resources of planet earth are not used up and to identify those who are abusing the resources of planet earth.

    Habitat II. United Nations Policy.

    Family Dependency Ratio.

Each person/family will be monitored for how much food, water, energy, materials, gas, clothing, housing and land they use. This will be weighed against how much they produce.

    SOURCE

If you use more than you produce you will be subject to fines and/or jail time. The Family Dependency Ratio is freedom in other words. ;)

Actually it's just another version of the communist revolution candy coated and repackaged with sweet sounding terms like sustainable development, world peace and protecting the environment.

Apparently our leaders democrats and republicans think it's the best thing since peanut butter as they have all signed on to it and promote it. As agenda 21, Sustainable development, NAFTA, GATT, CAFTA, FTAA, open borders and the CFR's "Building A North American Community" among many others. They call it freedom and we're waist deep in it.

George Bush loves it too. UNESCO, CAFTA and open borders. Clinton implimented it through EXO 13107 without consulting congress. At least they are making it easy for us all we Americans have to do is give up our constitution, property rights, religion, liberty and sovereignty as citizens and a nation.

That's the new freedom enjoy it. Nuff said. [IMG]
