Interesting. The only PAC-10 team I see there is Washington. </font>[/QUOTE]USC and Washington are both on the list.

Really? I would have expected the cradle of coaches to be in there.

Georgia Tech used to be a perennial national powerhouse.

    WVU was a surprise.

I should have already mentioned it, but most of this data is directly from, or can be deduced from

    What a cool site Alcott.

I didn't know this about Michigan. This is there conferance affiliation history.

    1879-1895 Independent
    1896-1906 Big Ten Conference
    1907-1916 Independent
    1917-20XX Big Ten Conference

I had no idea they were independent twice, and I had no idea the Big Ten existed in 1896.

4HG, I hate to do it to you... but it looks like the idea of the Big10 being the best conference this year didn't materialize. Although, their bottom tier teams are doing well out of conference against pretty weak teams.

The west gets very little coverage from ESPN let alone any respect.I lived in Pennsylvania for a couple of years and learned from personal experience that there a more hillbillies in the Atlantic states then there are any where in the south.

The Big-10 is the best conference; however, Michigan is the worst team in the conference.
With their less than awe-inspiring record this year, wait for Carr to start whining about the officials, the weather, the turf, etc. everything except what a lousy team he has.

The Big 10 isn't the best conference by any stretch. They are collectively 1-5 against ranked opponents.

The three premier schools, Michigan, Iowa, and Ohio State have already lost. Michigan and OSU lost at home. While Iowa lost to an unranked team.

Yeah, yeah... the Big 10 has 5 top 25 teams right now. BUT, the ACC has 6 and the SEC has 5 as well... with 4 in the top 10. IOW's, the people who have been watching the games... don't think the Big 10 has the best teams.

Unfortunately for the Big 10... Michigan is absolutely not the worst team. In fact, they are still one of the top 3.
