    I prefer the ESV to the NIV, since it is a more literal, word for word translation.

    Don't fall for the hype. The translational differences between the two are actually minimal. The awkward phraseology is the hallmark of the ESV. It is not an English standard by any means.

    I Agree! the problem is when we would see ours favorite as the ONLY version one should use, should have ours be theirs also!

    is there any particular reason why you decided to make the jump from the TNIV to the NIV 2011?
