Maxey's article is a bit out-of-date because he is reviewing the pre-1995 NASB. A number of his remarks would not apply to the current NASBU.

That's what I've read, and I'm looking forward to it. That, and getting to know a different version.

You have saddles? Do you ride horses everywhere, kind of like Amish? So you're Amish Baptist?

    Oh - very funny!! :tongue3:

No, I ride dressage and have two saddles. One is my favorite but it doesn't fit my horse well (well, he's really not MY horse but he's the boy I ride all the time and have been for 6 years) so I have my trainer's saddle that I'm going to most likely buy. Of course there's the $3500 saddle I have my eye on but I think I need to sell a child for that one. LOL

    LOL!

But how do you ride comfortably with all those black clothes on? And I hear you all can really cook! Shouldn't you be canning vegetables? LOL!!!!!

So, you're against women in pants too? lol

But you don't use the "1611." Hmm. Quite an odd sounding cult.

    :tonofbricks:

    What about coulots!?

Check out www.mycoulots.com, I googled it for ya. No need to wear those hot black skirts year 'round! Get with the times!

You DO realize that coulots are just a compromise from Satan. They are still pants and just a way to bend the rules to fit your own fleshly desires. They are EVIL, I tell you!

They look even satanic! When I attended college, there was much debate on women and pants. I had never heard much of it until I had moved from Ohio to Missouri. Even to type about the issue feels ridiculous.

The College President, at one point, preached against the nonsense at a fellowship, saying, it's not OK for women to wear pants, but alas, cut them just below the knees, and name them culouts, and now it's OK. Hypoctritical.

I am glad to not be surrounded by this unfortunate, ugly, unbiblical legalism.

Seriously. Hubby and I joke about "homeschool mom jumpers" and I threaten him that I'm going to get one and wear it all the time. But he knows it's only a threat and nothing more. I'm a yoga pants/jeans/sweats kind of gal. I wear skirts during the summer and when I have to dress up but that's about it. :)

Too funny but from seeing my daughter's snuggie, it's kind of like a hospital gown. There ends up being quite the draft in the back.

Don't laugh - I've been tempted to bring my daughter's when I work at the church on Fridays. Our sanctuary is large and not typically heated well during the week because it's such a large space and we're pinching pennies. Well, my "office" is the sound booth so I get in there and it's in the low 50s. I bought some fingerless gloves to wear to keep my hands warm and I keep an extra sweater there as well. A small heater helps but I've been tempted to bring a snuggie as well!! LOL

Aside from my post #62, the last 16 have had nothing to do with the OP.

Why do you prefer either the ESV or NASB?
