If Christian conservatives stay on the sidelines during the fall campaign, presidential hopeful John McCain probably stays in the Senate.

Considering that Senator McCain in the past has never missed an opportunity to poke his thumb in the eye of conservative evangelicals I think you can count on them staying on the sidelines in this election.

The GOP base is not large enough this year to win the election. Senator McCain is going after moderates and independents.

==This evangelical has left McCain for Baldwin (Const) or Barr (Lib). I will be changing my voter registration from Republican to Independent when I get a chance.

Are we not first and foremost Christians?

John McCain may not be ultra "conservative", but is there anything about him that would make a Christian voter not vote for him in light of the scriptures?

Obviously a Christian is sinning by yoking up with those who promote such things as the slaughter of innocent children, like Obabma and Hillary. But what does McCain support that is sin that a Christian (conservative or liberal) should reject him for?

You would have to give proof of this. You are saying that McCain wants war and goes looking for war. If the facts do not support this claim then it is you who have sinned by bearing a false witness.

Prove he is a warmonger or repent of the accusation.

Do you think that it is Scriptural to laugh about starting a war with another country???? I don't.

Me too. I've voted 'Republican' for President ever since I turned 18. Not anymore--it'll be Barr or Baldwin for me this year as well.

I have snail speed internet dial up service so I won't even take the half hour or forty-five minutes it would take to download the video.

I don't think there is much evidence if any of the accusation you have made. I think you just desire to label him something bad to justify your own actions.

In a court of law in this land do you honestly, Lord as your witness, feel that McCain would indeed be found guilty of being a warmonger?

He can't prove it, but don't expect repentance either.

    It's simply his overstated opinion.

Oddly enough, I am on McCain's side on these. Embryonic stem cell research holds promise to cure many diseases and afflictions of the human condition; while I also don't believe in enshrining any kind of discriminatory language into the supreme governing document of our nation. Marriage is a state issue, and should not be a constitutional one. Amendments have confirmed liberty, not limited it, particularly when dealing with a particular group of citizens. Of course prohibition, which was repealed, limited freedom, but it applied across the board to everyone.

There is no reason to use embryonic stem cells, especially not taxpayers' dollars.

    Thanks tinytim.

If this is true and he does not repent then I will not vote for him. I will look into it.

As far as the marriage amendment goes, not supporting it does not carry the same weight as promoting gay marriage with an amendment. It is a personal sin law. Not like abortion were the sin is committed upon another person as murder.
