OldR, how about addressing the real topic. What can the GOP do to change the perception of the American people that they are becoming a party of loonies? If they continue to go down in the eyes of the public it does not matter if the Democrats also have loonies. Perception translates into votes in the elections. So, please address the real topic. Thanks.

And if the OP is correct...

Why is the great white hope Hillary losing to just about every Republican in swing states in polling?

The op is a silly opinion piece by a far left loony. Nothing more.

If you cannot tolerate different views than your own and it always drives you to this much anger than you are right.

The great white hope! That's a good one! The Democrats are run by a bunch of rich elderly whites.

Hillary, the great white hope--she will make the whole country just like socialistic Scandinavia or at least just like Minnesota. The great white hope, gentrified socialism, white style.

I did. I said the "Loonies" have come home to roost! And that applies to both parties.

If ever there were an election cycle that could see a third party challenger win the office of POTUS, it will be in 2016.

Dems are fed up with the elected dems. GOP's are fed up with elected repubs! It is time for someone, maybe Trump. to start a third party and take it to DC!

Wait till they find that buried skeleton in The Donalds closet and start squeezing the gonads. Then we will see if he can play hard ball. :) This ones for keeps guys. Will you support him when push comes to shove. Will you support his marital infidelities, his secular views on religion, his bankruptcies....blah blah blah and thats just scraping the surface. I dont think the scummy American system has even begun to roll out the big guns....but they will!

$10,000,000,000 covers up a lot of problems from the old days.

To use a baseball analogy, this is a spring training season and nothing more.

Hillary is not going to implode or be bogged down by scandals. The Democrats are going to nominate her no matter what.

Notice that McConnell didn't even bother to deny that he lied. The GOP has their own internal problems but any of the current field would be better than Hillary who is as crooked as a snake.

So far, I find the GOP good old boys to be philanderers and deceptive. They were voted back into the majority, and they have done nothing but politics as usual.

I am willing to give the guy a chance because I believe Trump will SURROUND himself with the best possible people, people who will make Trump look good, while they fix what's wrong with America!

Something inside me says Trump really cares about America, and he will not play the same games.

We'll know tons more after they Fox debate next week. Trump will either lose his cool and flip his wig, or he will be well coached, follow his handlers and impress another 15% of the electorate. We'll see if he can follow a script, or die on the stage.

I certainly hope so....but what does he stand to gain by all this? Is it the idealistic thinking that he can change anything.....truly what can he change with the do nothing congress always undermining efforts? Also I am stressing that, when push comes to shove, and they collude together, will he fold like a house of cards (remember Ross Perot) of will he stand and face the adversary? Time will tell Paul, time will tell!

For a minute there I thought you were talking about "Good Ole Joe" that Franklin Roosevelt doted on and gave Eastern Europe.

The following describes the whacko's in the democrat party!

The above is what anyone who votes democrat supports. I realize that the democrat party hierarchy is largely anti-Christian and the party as a whole is becoming completely secular but there are professing Christians who support this "party of death"! The above makes what ISIS does look mild!

You are still missing the important point in the OP ... or are refusing to admit the point. In politics it is all about public perception. If public perception is against you, you will not win the election.

Your self-righteous attitude reminds me of the opening prayer Carlyle Marney prayed at the opening of a SBC convention. It was short and to the point.

He said, "Lord, let us be as great as we think we are."

You keep saying this over and over...

But the fact is that the Repulicans walked all over the Democrats in the last round of elections.

What makes you think that you have the correct read of the public perception?

It is you who are self righteous Mr. Crab.

It is you who continually brag about how much you care about the poor and downtrodden. It is you who continually lie that the democrat party is the party of compassion even as they celebrate the horror that was described in the link I posted earlier. It is you who support the president, Obama, who supported infanticide as an Illinois State Senator. It is you who lie saying those who support the Republican party care nothing for the poor in our country; you lie about this even though you know that Republicans give far more to charity than the democrats.

In all honesty your support of the slaughter of the unborn child, vividly described in the above link, shows your true character!

So do you agree with Trump that McCain was not a patriot because he was captured by the communists in Viet Nam? hat's the most ridiculous argument I've ever heard. I suppose you think GW Bush was a war hero because he used his father's influence to get into the Air Force national Guard and then was AWOL during his service time.

    Strawman alert!

Probably because you just made it up.

    Non sequitur

Eighteen months ago, TAC publisher Ron Unz discovered an astonishing account of the role the 2008 Republican presidential nominee, John McCain, had played in suppressing information about what happened to American soldiers missing in action in Vietnam. Below, we present in full Sydney Schanberg’s explosive story.

John McCain, who has risen to political prominence on his image as a Vietnam POW war hero, has, inexplicably, worked very hard to hide from the public stunning information about American prisoners in Vietnam who, unlike him, didn’t return home. Throughout his Senate career, McCain has quietly sponsored and pushed into federal law a set of prohibitions that keep the most revealing information about these men buried as classified documents. Thus the war hero who people would logically imagine as a determined crusader for the interests of POWs and their families became instead the strange champion of hiding the evidence and closing the books.
