So I'm not a subscriber to political correctness. I never state that I hate the sinner, never. Queer is a perfectly legitimate and acceptable name, and it releases me from having to repeat 'sodomite'.

As far as me being susceptable to the fires of hell...impossible..cannot happen.

You are a comfortable True Christian (tm) and there is no talking to you.
HUH??? Yeah, nice talking to you also......???

I see, so Jesus clear Scriptural warning applies to other people, but not you? Yet you say I am the one who is ignoring the Bible?

There is a word for that.

Queer is a legitimate word meaning unusual or curious. Used in your context it is extremely offensive. It seems no less offensive than saying something like,
Using slurs against other human beings is repugnant, no matter which group you try to dehumanize.

You're welcome. Using slurs says more about the speaker than the people being discussed.

    Your done?

What I do know is simple, I pray that you and everyone here might know Jesus as I know Jesus, except for these chains. When you know Jesus like I know Jesus, all that you can do is tell people about Him AND the coming judgment.

I do not want to see anyone burn in Hell - even if you think that they are "____'s".

This "I'm holier than you" moment has been brought to you by Johnson Neck Starch, the starch for people who want that extra-stiff neck.

That's a good, and often missed, point.

Growing up in the Deep South, I've noticed that slurs often reveal nothing more holy than a deep-seated fear.

It seems that you are trying to offend.

But, just remember that if someone's sin is offensive to God - that someone had better get clean by the Blood of the Lamb . . . it is clean or burn.

And yes, that word is much more descriptive of what the lifestyle is. Just as we used to consider drunkenness a sin, we used to consider homosexuality a sin.

Magnetic Poles isn't the one who called homosexuals "queers." He isn't the one trying to offend, but the one trying to explain to people who ignore the obvious exactly why using epithets such as "queer" is offensive. It's really quite simple.

Not trying to offend at all...just using a parallel to point out that bigotry is offensive. Why would the original quote sound better than my parallel? Both are highly offensive.

Well, at least queer is better than fag.

Seriously, why the big deal? Just because someone finds the word offensive doesn't mean the word should be offensive.

I'm sure there are people who find the following words offensive:

fat, black, redneck, oriental, gay, nazi, fascist, liberal, ignoramus, assinine, etc, etc, etc.

...but, we continually see these words used on the BB. Why not the outcry over these?

I think people are too PC on these issues.

My mother uses the word queer, always has, and I can guarantee you that she does not use it in a derogatory way. In her time, that's what they were called.

I don't think people will be happy until we stop applying any labels whatsoever to people.

    Signed,

    The big, fat redneck.

I don't like being called a redneck. You may enjoy it, I don't know or care.

Let us, in the spirit of Magnetic Poles, reconstruct your post using different terms:

"My mother uses the word n*gg*r, always has, and I can guarantee you that she does not use it in a derogatory way. In her time, that's what they were called."

I think that would be a marvelous idea.

[FONT=Courier, Courier New] How many years can a mountain exist

Yes, 'n' how many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free?
