Absolutely. It was absolutely the worst thing they could have done. It's turned out to be a disaster and I don't believe they'll be able to put the genie back into the bottle.

This president owns a lot of the blame, along with Rice. Everyone in the world knew this wouldn't work.

Righto

You are exactly on it. We have gone against God and the Abrahamic covenant involved with the nation of Israel who will be saved at the Lord's return owning that land by Divine Decree.

We shall see how USA pays for this in years to come.:praying:

I disagree. They will be able to put the genie back in the bottle. They are, however, going to have to go to bigger extremes to do it. They are going to have to inflict some serious pain to do it, and that they are. I think of it like Iraq. Had Bush Sr. taken care of Saddam almost 15 years ago now, yes the war would have lasted longer than 9 days, but it would have saved us a lot of problems today. you know the old saying, "Pay me now or pay me later".

It's pretty instructive to read why Bush Sr. didn't occupy Iraq. He laid out the reasons, and not surprisingly, the consequences he predicted are exactly what we're getting right now.

While we hoped that popular revolt or coup would topple Saddam, neither the U.S. nor the countries of the region wished to see the breakup of the Iraqi state. We were concerned about the long-term balance of power at the head of the Gulf. Trying to eliminate Saddam, extending the ground war into an occupation of Iraq, would have violated our guideline about not changing objectives in midstream, engaging in "mission creep," and would have incurred incalculable human and political costs. Apprehending him was probably impossible. We had been unable to find Noriega in Panama, which we knew intimately. We would have been forced to occupy Baghdad and, in effect, rule Iraq. The coalition would instantly have collapsed, the Arabs deserting it in anger and other allies pulling out as well. Under those circumstances, furthermore, we had been self-consciously trying to set a pattern for handling aggression in the post-cold war world. Going in and occupying Iraq, thus unilaterally exceeding the U.N.'s mandate, would have destroyed the precedent of international response to aggression we hoped to establish. Had we gone the invasion route, the U.S. could conceivably still be an occupying power in a bitterly hostile land. It would have been a dramatically different--and perhaps barren--outcome.

If you want to get to the heart of the matter, just read these two words and that is the crux of the matter. All he cared about was his political costs.

I like your quote. Let me say I don't think the issue is political cost anymore AS MUCH as it is political gain. You can disagree if you'd like, but I am here. I know the contractor-civilian (you know, contracted by rich American constituents who heavily lean on Washington from one of the 6000 special interest groups in DC alone) to service member ratio. It is high. So, now the issue is: the political gain, as far as America (not necessarily the majority public) is concerned, is HIGH!

Here's to the Evangelical crowd that thought "If we only have a republican whitehouse and Congress...."

Yes, except some of us didn't know the first time around. Then the second time around, the vote was out of fear that Kerry might win (touted as the "lesser of two evils" - how many times did I hear that?).

Back to topic.....

You got that right - and it ain't the taxpayers who are getting the political gain, but the crooks on capitol hill and their special interest buddies.

Looking at the world as a whole right now, today, things are getting pretty crazy out there, from Israel, to Iran, to Syria, to North Korea. I agree with Brother Curtis, this administration is next to leaderless. This whole thing could tip into something very bad. I really think prayer is in order for all these situations, and yes, prayer for the President. I do not like him, but he is the President. God has something in mind with all this, as He controls history, but this has all the makings of a Christian Judeo vs Muslim athiest war on a wide scale if we dont watch out. The draft could come back. We are streched thin now.

God promised to bless Abraham's son Ishmael (Gen 17: 20). We would be much better off letting God determine how to implement His promises.

The USA will be judged for the SIN OF ABORTION. Will the USA pay - yes, we have paid and we will pay BILLIONS OF US DOLLARS for peace in the Mid East - because no one else wants peace.

I am not for terrorists - Islamic, Jewish, or PRETEND Christians. But the issue right now is a 2 front war. 2 front war is the only reason every terrorist in the World is 'EMBOLDENED'.

It will get worse, before it can get better.

Israel attacked, because the USA is sidetracked dealing with N Korea.

Pray that N Korea doesn't attack because we (USA) are side tracked by ISRAEL.

Israel is recovering the sanity since Ariel Sharon was smitten by God.
The war must be extended to Iranian Nuke site.
Lebanon is a poor and miserable victim by Syria and Iran.
This is the best chance for the world to remove the Nuke activities in Iran.

NK is totally different case with different historical background. North Korean matter should be handled among the local countries like Japan and SK, China, Russia.

It is already a war of muslims versus Christians, Jews, and other "infidels" which has been going on for quite a long time. Our goofy politically correct leaders have failed the American people and the rest of free countries by refusing to tell the truth. They lie. They call it a "war on terrorism" instead of coming right out and telling us that islam has declared war on the world. Yet, all one has to do is look at the bombings and attacks going on all over the world and what religion is behind them. All one has to do is look at the writings and speeches delivered in mosques throughout the world and the writings and statements of islamic organizations to see the truth. All one has to do is go on the internet and see the multiple web sites dedicated to the destruction of Israel and the West, or look at what is being promoted in the Arab media.

But we have a weak leader, one who sold out to muslims long ago through many business deals, and a paternal ancestry which made fortunes in business dealings with Nazis. While the president has stated that Israel has a right to defend herself, I expect him to turn on Israel and threaten them if they don't go along with "his" plans of giving into these terrorists again - just like he did about the Road Map. I only hope Congress will rise up and go on record as supporting Israel in its war against these muslims who seek to destroy her AND us. It is a religious war which was declared on the rest of the world a long time ago and this is the third jihad.

Nothing in the world takes place without either the will of God, or the providence or tacit allowance of God. If anyone doesn't know this truth, her or his faith may not be rooted deep in the practial life.

Pat Robinson sometimes points out the right things as in this case.
Ariel Sharon is not recovering yet, why does God leave him like that?
