Sorry, zero-heads, but yer joy in sticking it to da man just took a big hit.....

....Provisions to impose a penalty on banks that paid hefty bonuses and to cap pay at $400,000 for all employees at firms applying for additional government funds did not survive the compromise, sources said...

I am not one of your "zero heads" as you put it but I am glad this came out.

I am not sure I liked the idea of it to start with, but in my opinion, if you're gonna do something like that at least make is worth the time and trouble to start with.

This "cap" didn't include bonuses and a host of other loop holes that would have allowed them to continue like they always have...

Good...next let's pass something that the federal government won't "bail out" these companies at all...

The Irish government just 'bailed out' two major Irish banks last night.

The president of one of them, the Bank of Ireland, was on the news tonight telling about how he is suffering. His income for 2008 was 2.9 million euro (roughly 3.25 million dollars). This year his salary is going to be less than 2 million euro.

The concept of salary caps was discussed here as well, but as much as this poor guy has given up we can't ask any more.

    Hey Curtis,

I was just reading this and it looks like the executive cap is in place in the bill, but it's harsher than Obama and his team wanted it so there is some in fighting it appears...

Wonder what will happen with this showdown... Obama vs Frank :)

It still looks like strong-arming. These banks are being forced to take the money, and have their pay limited ?

Sounds like Bush & Obama may be high-fiving each other, while we bash each other over this.

    Thank you for the correction.

I don't think it's just Bush & Obama that are high fiving at our expense..

I am afraid that unless we wake up, band together and take back Washington we will have no where to go but down and it doesn't really matter who is at the helm....

Curtis, why the insults to your fellow board members. You didn't like me giving a name to Rush, but you repeatedly do this. Not a good way to get a meaningful conversation. You are better than this.

You never stopped it when I did confront you on it. And Rush can't draft my kids and send the to Pakistan.

But the admonishment will be seriously considered. I promise.

Hank was the one forcing them to take money, he's gone and we have a new guy. Didn't you get the memo?
