I'm not a fan of the ID theory, since we already know of Creation, but they are using this theory as a tool to try to show the vacuity behind teaching evolution as science.
It's probably a result of the frustration Creationists have endured so long in trying to achieve a level playing field.

I'd rather see evolution kicked out of schools, as the junk science it is, or allow the teaching of Creation as an equal theory.

I have seen the trailers for this movie and I look forward to getting out and seeing it. Persecution of Christians in academia and public education is all to common. I hope that Mr. Steins movie continues to show on many screens across this nation.

Evolution certainly cannot be reconciled with scripture. Paul's letter to the Romans (5:12) backs up the creation account just fine.

But Ben Stien ? Is he saved ? I would caution Christians against trusting everything in this movie. We're better off trusting God's word.

This is a ridiculous statement. ID theory (although Personally, I am a much more fundamental "Biblical Creationist: i.e. I believe what God said and therefore reject evolution, and long ages) has been used to discover new planets, has aided in the decoding of the Human Genome, has helped solve mysteries of Microbiology and biomechanics (by applying rational, ordered processes as contrasted to haphazard, random ones), etc.

The idea of prohibiting funding to research that is based on I.D. theory, rather than Darwinian evolution (the religion), is preposterous. The supreme court has ruled in the past, that Atheism is in fact, a religion, and therefore prohibiting the possibility of God in classroom science is unconstitutional: it is the equivalent of a state sponsored religion: Atheism.

I am a fundamental, Southern Baptist, Literal 6 day creationist.

Stein is not a Christian. He decided to make the movie after a college speaking engagement of his was "edited" and he was told he was not allowed to mention certain things. This is what got him investigating this problem.

However, it is an EXCELLENT film.

I usually stay away from such films. I never saw any of Micheal Moore's movies, or Al Gore's and I never watched any of the rebuttal movies from the right.

There can certainly be no doubt that creationists are silenced, and ridiculed, by even other Christians. God told us this would happen. If that is where Ben goes with this film, he is absolutly correct. I just wonder if he just uses examples of people whov'e had bad experiences, or if he actually does talk about the vast amounts of science that does back up creation ?

But in the mean time, perhaps God has been working on ole' Ben, and if we pray for the man.......

No the whole movie is about the silencing of ID.

He may be saved but it doesn't matter to this film. The issue is Intelligent Design, which is a watered down, (God Himself not mentioned) but more palatable form of Creationism, and the extreme persecution by the intelligencia in power in the scientific community against anyone wanting to present evidence for it. They seem to spare no effort to destroy the messengers.

I read the rest of the posts, and realize he's apparently not saved, but he's not the least antagonistic to us, and further seems on a path to truth....pray for him.

Propose three investigations that can use ID methodology. How would the experiments apply ID principles? What are the principles?

Certainly not in the mind of a literalist.

Our pastor yesterday said this was a good movie. We usualy wait and rent most movies we want to see. I don't think we've paid to see a movie in a couple of years.

Then I challenge you to reconcile it.

I'm pretty certain you won't bother.

I believe in Intelligent Design and Evolution. I know that evolution happens, but I believe we were designed, perhaps with the help of evolution. They don't have to be mutually exclusive.

I've never read the I.D. theory and don't care to.

But you either believe the biblical account or you don't. I know that adaptation happens, but I don't believe one species becomes another.
