Silly me … I thought all a BAC had to do was read the Scriptures and believe them!

I recently came across this teaching on the Internet …

"This subject is one that I believe the devil has done much damage. If a person is saved and tormented by guilt and shame, then the devil will accuse them of not being saved. This is used by the enemy to bring much fear, torment and condemnation into a person's life. There is no need to fear losing your salvation, if you know how much that God loves you, how merciful
of a God we serve, and how we are not saved by works but by grace. Are we living a worldly lifestyle? Are we holding unforgiveness in our hearts? Now that's another story.

“… if you have anything against anyone, forgive him,
that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.
But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.” (Mark 11:25-26)
Please also see Matt 6:14-15, Matt 18:21-35.

I strongly encourage you to consider the whole gospel of salvation, as it is VERY much filled with hope and the love of God, and not to simply look at this teaching and feel condemned. It is my hope that this teaching motivates you to get serious about your relationship with God and forgive those whom have wronged you. That is what Jesus is asking of us! To love Him with our whole heart, and to love one another as He has forgiven us. Is that asking too much, after all that He has done for us? Not at all.

Those who need to hold tightly to the once-saved theory, are those who's minds are bound in dead religion. They do not grasp the concept of God's love, grace, and mercy towards us, and therefore need to feel secure, because they do not feel worthy as they are attempting to be saved by works. They feel that one mistake, and God is angry with them. This is not true, but to somebody who has religious strongholds and spirits (demons), this is too big of a reality to overlook. If you cling tightly to the once-saved theory, then you have some serious bondages to religion and should resolve those through
spiritual warfare and deliverance and establish your intimate relationship with God.

It is my heart's desire with this teaching to do two things: (a) break up the nonsense of once-saved theology which is costing the body of Christ numerous number of souls every year, and (b) provide comfort and truth to those who are tormented constantly over fear of losing their salvation. If you think that you're going to lose your salvation every time you slip up,
then you are not living in grace but legalism, and do not understand your relationship with God, and as a result, you will constantly fear loss of your salvation and fall into condemnation.

Why is it so important to preach against once-saved? Because millions of souls are in hell because the church has not done it's job educating the body. While we are out evangelizing the sinners, there are people in our own congregations that are on their way to hell. Why? One good reason is unforgiveness. The Bible is crystal clear that if we don't forgive those who wrong us, then we are not going to receive forgiveness for our own sins, and as a result, we abide in spiritual death."

(Thus ends the Introduction to a very long teaching on OSAS.)

    2 Corinthians 10:3-6
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,
casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God,
bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (i.e. the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit) …”

A stronghold is an area in a believer’s life where Satan has great spiritual control (influence).
Satan puts thoughts into the heads of all BACs.
This is just one of the areas in which we must be overcomers. Good Luck!

That's easy, They are stuck on Jesus Christ!

I don't believe in luck, I believe in Jesus Christ......

"For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?" (IJohn5)

Notice the Word says the born-again Christians overcome through faith in Jesus Christ. Pretty simple, pretty cut and dried.

    1 John 5:
1 Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God,
and everyone who loves Him who begot
also loves him who is begotten of Him.
2 By this we know that we love the children of God,
when we love God and keep His commandments.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments.
And His commandments are not burdensome.

4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world.
And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
5 Who is he who overcomes the world,
but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

Notice the stress on keeping the commandments!
I’d say it is hooked into being an overcomer!
Yes, many warning passages say being obedient is necessary for eternal life!
    You've already seen them.

We also have this passage (spoken by Jesus Himself) ...

    Revelation 3:
21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne,
as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

Jesus said to overcome as He overcame!
Did Jesus overcome by believing that “Jesus is the Son of God”?

No ... because there are whole pile of things that need to be overcome!

If the BAC is very willing to co-operate with his/her sanctification process,
then he/she will be very willing to be led by the Holy Spirit regarding this,
and he/she will be successful in overcoming everything that needs to be overcome.

Thanks for explaining overcoming to us.

Do you understand what Jesus said His commandments were? Can you list them with references?

You once told me that you sin everyday, how does this fit into your preaching about overcoming? And doesn't sinning everyday kinda sound habitual? Since if you break one command you break the whole law?

All I want to know is ...
How many thousands of times do I have to show you 1 John 1:7-10?

If I can get an answer to this, I'll die a happy man.
Oh forgot ... I'ze already a happy man ... we got rid of da Bibliotechster.

1 John 1:7-10 is how we deal with our daily sins, i.e have them covered over.

I'm not sure then what your preaching is all about. You keep preaching the born of God must obey, and then you say we can sin/disobey everyday and as long as we confess we will be alright. It's your barbeque brother, and we have no idea what your cookin up! At times it smells real good and then we get that wiff of stench. Which way you gonna go? Can sin everyday and live or obey or else?

John main point is that since the saints of God do desire to keep and will obey the Lord as their natural bent now, they will be those that confess and repent of their sins!

Sign of being real Christians, but those who refuse to live in odeience and repent/confess, but still live just like former lives, are not saved!

Not they were saved, but now lost, still lost!

the whole point of all those verses you quote against OSAS, is theythey are given to show us how a real saint will now live, and to show that profession is not enough in and by itself, as we will evidence cjanged lives to some degree!

Thou still haven't said how many thousands of times!
Not to worry, Yeshua1 has been guilty of this also, plenty of times!
The theme song around here is, "How many thousands of times?"

Well, Steavie Wonder, are we commanded to obey God, or not?

We are to do our best.

Then when we mess up, we have an Advocate we can go to,
Whose precious blood will be applied to totally cover our sin ... 1 John 1:7-10

Take a wild guess at Who this might be.
I'll give you a hint ... The initials backwards are CJ.

No, Joseph Cromwell is incorrect ... please try again.

Yes, we are told to keep Jesus' commands. I asked you earlier what they were and the references. You didn't answer. Can you post them for us?

There is already a religion for this, it is called Mormonism. The book of Mormon makes it clear that only after you do your best will Jesus then save you. I pray that you will soon drop this antichrist doctrine. That may sound harsh, but you seem to be stuck on this false teaching no matter how many brothers and sisters here try to reason with you. You will not reason, you just keep repeating the same untruths over and over.

Maybe it is the problem of Mark 7 where man-made tradition is used to delete the Word of God, maybe that is how "severed from Christ, fallen from Grace" Gal 5:4 is getting set aside and turned into -- "well ok but osas is in there some place" kind of thinking.

Same posting style as another troll who was on here not too long after I joined. He'll get himself banned in less than a week.

Evangelist-7 ... the reason so many people are "stuck on" eternal security (or the pejorative "OSAS" you call the doctrine) is because it is biblical truth!

No, the OSASer just says Paul was talkin' to Jewish BACs who had turned back to include works in their salvation.

But, if any BAC can be "severed from Christ, fallen from Grace", then OSAS is kaputski.

Just another proof of many ... B-O-R-I-N-G!

Why? Do you know they preach exactly what you are preaching here?

Go to this page and read how Mormons answer the question concerning Grace. It is exactly as yours....... http://mormon.org/faq/beliefs-on-grace

News Flash ... for Steavie and others who are :sleeping_2:

All denoms, cults, sects, etc. which propose/pretend to be Christian
have at least a few things correct in their doctrines.
Translation: none of them are 100% incorrect about everything.

    Mocking other believers.

    Being antagonistic.

I think someone is in danger of losing his salvation.
