You're right. What you are seeing here before your very eyes is probably the product of a liberal seminary. Nevermind that Clarence Larkin spent hours on his knees in prayer before Almighty God instead of attacking people on public forums. Guess people have different definitions of "godliness" too.

Something doesn't make sense. If the temple is something in the future, and the Lord is there, then why is there a reference to the offering of sacrifices there? Jesus was the final sacrifice, and those who believe in him are not called to offer ritual sacrifices. That's strictly an OT concept, not a NT concept.

    Johnv,

There are sacrifices being offered there due to the PROPHECIES that there WILL be sacrifices offered there, along with the Pauline verification that things of that nature are a SHADOW of things to COME. See Col.2. (Future from Pauline revelation) See Isaiah 66 and note the things.

The body of Christ IS NOT associated with sacrifices, while OTHERS are.

The mindset that ALL SACRIFICES will stop with Christ, under the NT is false exposition of the scriptures, and heresy, according to the Bible. That is the MIND GAME of those who "spiritualize" the OT, while not believing what it says, BECAUSE THEY CAN'T UNDERSTAND why there would be. Unbelief breeds infidelity, which is manifested by ignorance, illiteracy, and incompetence in deceitful handling of the Book.

I have NO IDEA "why" God would have literal sacrifices OFFERED, but I believe the FACT that he will do it because he STATED that would occur.

The nation of Israel is not under the NT as of yet. (2 Cor.3) The blood of the everlasting covenant has been shed, but it has not been APPLIED to the nation. This will occur after those days. (Jer.33) Only the "remnant, according to the election of grace" have that pleasure at this time. (Rom.11) Israel is not saved (Rom.9-11)and their heart has not turned to the Lord. It will though, and they will STILL OFFER sacrifices, according to the OT prophets. They will NEVER WANT a man before the Lord to offer burnt offerings, kindle meat, and do SACRIFICE continually! (Jer.33)

The church which was at Jerusalem STILL went to the temple, kept the law, and OFFERED sacrifices. (Acts 15, 21) They KNEW they couldn't take away sins, but they were offered anyway! (Hebrews) I know that might be hard for you to understand, but it concerns Pauline dispensationalism, which MANY have no knowledge concerning, and no DESIRE to "study". (2 Tim.2)

    Hope this helps, brother.

    In Christ Jesus,
    Carl

I would just like to add that not all Old Testament sacrifices were for sin and atonement.

    There were also sacrifices for

Worship - Praise unto the Lord
Gratitude - Thanksgiving unto the Lord
    Dedication - unto the Lord
    Peace Offerings

So even though Hebrews 10:11-14 says the sacrifice of Jesus was a once for all sacrifice, it doesn't apply to Israel?

    What is Pauline dispensationalism?

'A shadow of things to come', it speaks of Old Testament prophecies on Jesus Christ, it already fulfilled by Calvary 2,000 years ago. Read Colossians 2:17 very carefully, it says, "Which are a shadow of things to come; BUT the body IS OF CHRIST." Obivously, the shadows of things(Old Testament prophecies, supplies of the tabernacles, all of these ARE Jesus Christ, that he already fulfilled through Calvary.

OOOOOOPS!!! I accidented click for reply. I am not finish talking on Col. 2:17. Christ already fulfilled prophecies of O.T. through Calvary, and he said, "it is finished" - John 19:30. That means, we are no longer doing practical daily sacrifices, offerings, again anymore. Because Jesus Christ is our Lamb. Also, CHrist is our temple. Christ told us, he destroyed that building of temple - John 2:19. And He rose it up in three days, it speaks of Christ's body as temple. We do not need a physical building of temple. Jesus Christ is now our temple. We can worshipping Jesus Christ through spirit and faith. Also, we are priests, we have right to ask Christ to forgive us our sins through his blood daily 24 hours.

There is not even a single find anywhere in the New Testament saying, sacrifices, offerings, and temple shall be restoration again. If premill teaching is correct, then Calvary is worthless.

Cannot you understand the purpose of Calvary is all about?

Jesus said, "it is finished." - John 19:30. Christ does not need daily sacrifices again anymore, because he already fulfilled them, and He is our Lamb.

I have an illustration: During the period post second advent, a person looking for a pure lamb somewhere, when find it. Then, to slain it, and to make an offering or sacrifice to God, for asking forgive sin. God says to a person, "Why you bring a offering to me? I do not need it. Please LOOOOOOK at Jesus!!!".

When Jesus shall come again to earth in physical. Christ is right there and sit on the throne in New Jerusalem on a new earth. We, the saints know where is our Saviour is, we shall always going to face Jesus Christ, as He sits on the throne. We shall always worshipping Him there forever and ever. Because He washed all our sins away through his own blood. He is the answer, that we need.

If suppose, premill is correct, then people would have to looking for a pure lamb, and to make offering or sacrifice for forgive sins, then it would make Jesus Christ looks worthless, and Calvary looks vain or worthless. Also, they would have to looking back OLD ways - old covenant.

Shall people continue practice the old covenant in the future? No. We are now no longer under the old covenant. Now, we are under the new covenant. Christ already make a new covenant through Calvary 2,000 years ago. It is not difficult for us to undersatdn what the New Testament or covenant is all about.

Dispensationalism makes the new covenant looks so complex.

I do not believe the Bible teaching us the complex things about the new covenant. I believe God wants us to understand the new covenant, because Bible have the everything to answer, and course, it is the result come from Calvary.

    Second thoughts....

1 Cor. 15:51-54 telling us, we all shall change into immortality at the last trumpet (Christ's coming). Immortality means no more dying or decay, and have new body, also be glorified be like Jesus Christ. And of course, we all shall become into perfect body, and no sin.

If suppose premill is correct, that people shall have make other offerings, or sacrifices, for to forgive their sins.

1 Cor. 15:51-54 telling us, that our body shall all changed into new, glorifies, and no sin.

Then, why should we have to make other offering or scarifice, even while we shall be perfect without have sin?

Thirdly, Matt. 13:29-30; 39-42; Matt. 24:39-41; Matt. 25:31-33, 41, & 46; and 2 Thess. 1:7-9 telling us, when Jesus will come again with his agels, all unbelievers shall be cast away into everlasting fire. The only remain group on earth shall be believers.

Obivously, there shall be no more sinners on earth beyond Christ's coming.

Also, Rev. 21:22 tells us, we do not need a building of temple on earth, because Jesus Christ IS the temple. We can worshipping to Jesus Christ in person forever and ever.

Also, there shall be no more sin on new earth beyond Christ's coming. So, therefore, we do not need another offering or sacrifice or building of temple. Jesus Christ is right there, we all shall come to Jesus Christ, and to worshipping him in person forever and ever.

Later, maybe tonight, or tomorrow night. I will post more discuss about Ezekiel 40-48.

    In Christ
    Rev. 22:20 -Amen!

    gotochurch,

Of course it WILL apply to Israel. That is the reason FOR the explanation being given in the book of HEBREWS "where" the statement is found. They HAVEN'T accepted Christ as of yet, nor REALIZED the sacrifices without Christ CAN'T TAKE AWAY sins. It is only through the SACRIFICE of Christ can it be for those who are sanctified, ie. The nation of Hebrews The covenant is right in the context. (The blood of the covenant was SHED, like I said, but it HAS NOT BEEN APPLIED yet!)

Pauline dispensationalism concerns the teachings of Paul's epistles, wherein he was given the CORRECT manner of division for the Bible. He put forth doctrines concerning the body of Christ, which didn't APPLY to others before and after it, while DEFINING the divisions within time. Dispensations define the manner of God's operations down through history with mankind, and they are all NAMED by Paul.

Paul's statement in Col.2 concerns FUTURE THINGS from the writing of the book in time. Christ has already CAME and LEFT at this time. Paul LAID OUT THE SHADOWS OF THE LAW in the book of Hebrews! Remember? (Heb.10)

Deafpostrib in his usual "fouled-up" exegesis just stated what the verse found in Col.2 DOES NOT SAY. Paul didn't tell you the items mentioned(what you eat, drink, respect of holyday, new moon, or sabbath days) "were" shadows of Christ! He said they ARE shadows of THINGS TO COME, but the body is of Christ. THOSE THINGS have no "power" over us in our DOING. Isn't that the statement?

LET NO MAN THEREFORE JUDGE YOU IN RESPECT OF THOSE THINGS. You don't have to SUBSCRIBE to them, and no man can judge you IF YOU DON'T. They were BLOTTED OUT for you. (See verse 14)

They AREN'T though for the nation of Israel,
EVEN AFTER they finally realized that Christ Jesus IS the sacrifice for their sins. They are THINGS TO COME, but the body is of Christ.

    Hope this helps.

    In Christ Jesus,
    Carl

Paul did all that in Acts 21 for the sake of those believing Jews who were still zealous of the law.

And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; -Paul, I Corinthians 9:20

    What about Jesus words here:

    Matthew 9

    10. And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
    11. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
    12. But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
    13. But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
    14. Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?
    15. And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
    16. No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.
    17. Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

    and then read Romans 11.

Does this have anything to do with it maybe?

Love in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour,
    michelle
