    Mike,

It's not the language itself that bothers me. Someone once said not to expect foul-mouthed sinners to act like Christians. Plus I was in the Navy, there's not much language that really shocks me. What bothers me is that it has become standard fare for the networks to let that garbage through without being bleeped. Though I hold the individuals wrong to some extent (they are unfortunately looked up to, as sad as that is, by young people), but it is the networks which pass that stuff through. Yeah, yeah, we can all switch channels but the reality is there are fewer and fewer networks and programs which don't have filthy language. And I would rather be able to know that I can trust the censors than carefully sitting there with the remote to quickly change channels AFTER an expletive has been loosed. And it's not a matter of wanting to make profanity go away (though I wish I could), it is simply wanting my son to grow up in a world where such things are not so quickly accepted with an "Oh, change the channel." Though they won't come back, for sure, the days of the "Andy Griffith" show, etc. were generally good days for television. What bothers me is that we aren't just moving away from that, it's that networks are rushing away from it with breakneck speed, to "knock down walls." There was a time when the walls were respected and appreciated.

fromtheright, very well said. I myself have only a christian for about6 years, before that my mouth was one of the worst things about me,but when I gave my life to Christ, I turly became a new man,I understood IT was was wrong to act the way I did. In the past it would have been no big deal for me to watch something like that. But now I dont wish to see it nor do I want my daughter to see it,Not even by accident. which is what happened last night.2corinthians 5:17,Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new. I know you will say that applies to christians and yes you are right, but as christians we are to turn away from these things, but in todays time far to many christians say just let it go it will pass Or it;s not my problem well I am sorry but it is our problem, and it is up to us to stop it.

That's like walking into a smoke shop and complaining that they sell cigarettes. What do you expect from the world? This place is not Christian-friendly. Whenever you click on the tube remember that you turned in on and you are welcoming them in, not the other way around. I say this in love. [IMG]

    Grace,

Also well said. I'm just not ready to give up the airwaves to "then enemy". I realize that Satan is the prince of the power of the air[waves] but that doesn't mean that we should embrace defeat in that struggle.
