This tread is not meant to discuss bible versions, nor stir controversy. Such topical discussions are for another place on the board.

I just got this email and want to have it fact checked.

Would those of you who have knowledge about the subject, please fact check this email?

Thank you. For the record - I prefer to use the NASB or the NKJV.

A quick look at Amazon.com and you could have the answers.

The NIV is published by Zondervan and Biblica.

The Joy of Gay Sex was published by Harper Collins in 1992. Now it is published by William Morrow.

The Satanic Bible is published by CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform.

As to the NIV "missing" 64,575 words that is blatantly false. The NIV is translated from different manuscripts than the KJV, therefore, the word count will not match up. The NIV does not have some words and verses the KJV contains and the KJV does not have some words the NIV contains.

Your email had 1 out of 4 of the publishers correct. It is incorrect to say the NIV is missing 64,000 words that are in the KJV. I would not put much stock in this email.

The graphic referenced in the OP is a rather good example of how the KJVOnly crowd selectively choose which issues they'll misinterpret to advance their positions.

Whoever made the graphic simply doesn't understand how translation works.

The KJV-only folks' arguments are mostly based out of ignorance and mis-education.

    Thank you for your response.

Because of obligations, I didn't have a chance to run down the information and is why I relied upon the knowledgeable folks of the BB for the information.

Sometimes I get these things sent to me, and usually trash them, but this one I sensed needed a bit more investigation then I had the time to spend.

That has long been my own thinking.
