No one has to live without leisure activities.

EVERYONE can find leisure activities that are free: libraries, museums, picnics in the park, .....

I've been in debt before on a relatively small income. When I decided to get "real" about paying it off, I took a good look at how much money I was spending on what I called non-essentials.

It was just $10 here and $4 there and $20 last week and $7.50 yesterday, but BOY - when I looked at it month-by-month, it was sickening to me how much I was not TRULY trying to manage my funds well.

#1-- I would agree. I do need to read more of my books and did some of that last night and will do more today.

#2--Actually my church has a tiny library and the local library does not have much if any of the books I want. Besides the drive to the library and back would exceed the $4.16 I paid for this USED book. The local Calvinist church also has a small library. There is a Reformed Baptist church about a half hour away with a good library but the cost in gas to get there and back would exceed the cost of the book. Again I am looking to SAVE MONEY. Know if Gas prices were reverted back to 2001 at $1.15/gal that would be different.

#3- Thats not what Crown suggested. They advocated a BALANCED life. Do you have a home mortgage?

Depends how much you spend. I do not exactly spend much on leisure activities, but me and my wife are gonna visit the Zoo next month. How often have we done this? Not once. Do I go to the movies often? We do sometimes but I have said NO this week or at least to any movie besides Dawn of the Planet of the Apes which will come out in a few months. Yes I spend some on leisure activities but not much and I BUDGET everything.

Do you have a home mortgage?

Ever heard of biking? If you don't have a bike ask a friend. No gas money!
