Huh? The freedom and democracy that their religion will not give them in the countries they come from? If it's the religion not giving them freedom, why the heck are they holding onto it when they come over here? You're not making sense if you think it's the religions beliefs that cause it and it's why they want to escape, yet it's rapidly growing in a free country they moved to to escape it.
As far as someone posting misconceptions about Islam, I highly doubt it would be deleted just based on that, as other religious beliefs are not. Did you post it in the wrong place, or bash Christianity in doing so?
I see no problem with pointing out true misconceptions, and I'm sure with all the (justified) hysteria there are many.

I agree with Johnv and rsr, that Muslims have a right to practice their religion and it is protected by the US Constitution. I am alarmed at the Religious right in the US whom instead of embracing the Baptist concept of Freedom of religion for all, seem to lean more toward the Puritan concept of Freedom of religion for us but no one else.

Islam is a false religion from hell but the fact is most American muslims are peace loving people who need Christ.

Muslims need Jesus just like any other lost person. I think we need to love them and try to tell the good news if they will listen. But, we must be aware of how dangerous this religion is.

One of the things that irritates me is I keep reading in Christian magazines and getting mail for the Support Israel Rally. Many Evangelical Christians in the Middle East who are predomintely Arabs have warned American Christians that such rallies are hurting efforts to take the Gospel to the Muslims and seems to be allying Christianity with Judaism (Which itself is a false religion).

If you want me to believe that Islam is a peaceful religion, then show me the Islamists who are exposing the violent heretical muslims, show me the ones contending for their peaceful faith. Show me quotes from Muslim newspapers calling the 9/11 events wrong. Show me Muslims organizing a peaceful protest to the Al-Queda-ites.

When david Koresh's religion meant he could rape 14 year olds, they burned him down.

When their religion calls for 3000 people being murdered, they get sympathy from the left.

Freely practicing one's faith has legal boundaries. Obviously that is intolerable under the laws of the US. Don't forget, Christians in the past had to deal with this as well. Several hunred years ago, people were being imprisoned and legally executed for the alllegedly being witches. (Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live) Christians were lynching blacks, not long ago, but in our lifetime, without fear of legal reprisal.

However, you'll find that the vast majority of Muslims who live here are peaceable people, following the peaceful teachings that are in the Koran. I would post verses from the Koran that support that position, but the moderators have informed me that I'm forbidden from doing so, so you'll have to take my word for it.

    Bro. Curtis stated,

Let me make it clear that I find it disturbing that Muslims in the USA have not been outspoken in their criticism of Bin Laden and I disagree with Johnv that the Koran teaches peace. Islam has had primarily a bloody history from it's origins and I believe the more Fundamentalists Muslims are more in line with historic Islam. Fundamentalist Islam may be one of the greatestest threats the world is facing today.

That being said, your statement above implies that the USA should wage war against the religion of Islam in our country. While I detest Islam, it is protected under the US Constitution and most Muslims are not terrorists nor fundamentalists. I do think it is a dangerous religion much like Satanism is but their practice is protected as long as they do not engage in illegal acts.

    Johnv stated,

I disagree with you that the Koran has basicaly peaceful teachings but I am perplexed why you are not allowed to quote from the Koran. Certaintly this is a debate forum and exchanging ideas (including those we disagree with) I would think would be allowed and add to the debate.

I know it seems like a contradiction but I dont understand why Muslims want to leave a country thats basically an Islamic state religion and come to a country with a Judeo- Christian based society, ( although I know that is disappearing)
and hold onto the religion that produced the third world living conditions from whence they came. Can anyone explain?

Economic status and conditions are unfortunately situations that all societies in all faiths, including predominantly Christian societies, have had to go through at one time or another.

The peace loving folks that they claim to be is a front for the end days--Jesus said there will come a time when people will say--we have peace--then sudden destruction!!

Sudden destruction has a way of rearing its ugly head right slap dab in the middle of peace loving Muslims!

I would call 9/11 a picture of sudden destruction.

I would call the slaughter of over 200 United States Marines sleeping safe and sound in their barracks in Beriut in the early 80's--sudden destruction!

I would call folks with dynamite strapped to their waists in the middle of a Tel Aviv shoppin' center--fixin' to "thumb the detenator"--sudden destruction

--while the world goes on and on that the religion is peaceable!!

We'll see how peaceable they are when Jesus comes back with "ten thousands of His Saints!!"

We'll see what religion shows up at Meggedo!!

I do believe that islam is a false religion., just look at romans 6:23, and ask yourself if they believe that Jesus is the son of God, if correct i dont think they believe in that, but please look up Luke 6:27, some people may find that a hard verse to follow but we must follow it and Pray that somehow they hear the True word of God thru a Baptist Missionary and become a follower of Christ.

This is the third post that has been deleted, yet none of the deleted posts contain falsehoods.

******I have deleted no posts but I have edited remarks that I felt were not of a christian spirit. I deny your claim that all you have said in defense of islam has been truthful, there is only one truth. It is found in the Bible not the koran. Murph *****

Why should we be afraid of what the Koran says? If Johnv was Muslim and was attempting to convert people to Islam on this board I could understand but I don't think he is promoting Islam but is trying to give a differant perspective. There are many differant viewpoints on this board. I don't agree with everything Johnv states concerning Islam but Free debate does add to the discusion- even if we don't agree with the opinion. I thought this was the fundamental baptist forum :( John if you want to promote Islam you ought to go to one of their boards to promote it.
