I agree with all but W's lie. There actually were WMD in Iraq. Saddam used them on the Kurds. Plus there were more that were shuffled into Syria and maybe other countries.

Bush was led to believe there were WMD in Iraq and they had used them previously.

    Again?
I always hate that this gets credited as a lie to GWB. Not that I'm a big fan of his, but this line irks me. He, along with Congressional Republicans and Democrats alike, authorized war in Iraq based off what was considered reliable intelligence. Of course, the Democrats changed their tune, saying they were for the war before they were against the war.

Imagine if you counted me as a trusted source of information, and I told you the guy sitting beside you had a knife and was going to stab you. You took pre-emptive action, convinced two of your buddies to help you, and then you beat the guy up, only to find out he did not have a knife. Would it be right for your friends to call you a liar, since you were only going off information that you considered to be reliable? That's basically what happened to Bush in the lead up to Iraq.

I've lived through Carter, Reagan, Bush One and Two, Clinton, and Obama. And the greatest, most dangerous lie, statement or whatever you want to call it, came from the lips of George W. Bush.

In an interview with Al Airabiya, the leading competitor of AL Jazeera, President Bush told the reporter that
There is no greater lie perhaps that's ever been told by a President than telling a billion plus people that they serve the same God as Christians.

It is NOT a true statement. However, if Bush believed it then he did not tell a lie.

A lie is: a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive!

You got a real hangup about Muslims. Perhaps you should go to Iran as a missionary and join other Christians in prison.

He isn't the only one to make incorrect religious statements.

Obama: There’s the belief, certainly in some quarters, that people haven’t embraced Jesus Christ as their personal savior that they’re going to hell.

    GG:

    You don’t believe that?

    OBAMA:

I find it hard to believe that my God would consign four-fifths of the world to hell.

*and in the beginning of the interview Obama says there is many paths to Heaven. Taking the interview as a whole. His messages is all religions lead to Heaven.

I happen to agree with you and Rev. If there were any WMD's, they had plenty of time to shi them to Syria and Iran, because Bush took forever getting the logistics in place to start invading Iraq.

That war took over a month to happen, and if we ever get into a real war, we are going to have need to deploy and begin fighting in days not months.

Si, we all believe there were WMD's, and we know where we think they were moved to. And no one can argue that the Kurds were poisoned by said WMD's, so, pretend that one wisn't there. I ony copy and paste the articles, and to be true to the author of this list, I left it intact!

    Shalom!

What is also sad is when Christians leaders will not give a defntivie answer.

Dobson as a guest on Larry King
KING: So if they were Jewish, they're somewhere not in heaven or -- Muslim, they're not in heaven.

DOBSON: Well, as you know, I'm thankful that I don't have the responsibility to figure that out.

    KING: But you believe it?

DOBSON: Well, I believe what the scripture says. And it tells us not to judge one another, leave that up to Him and I do that.

KING: Does it -- does it puzzle you, Dr. Dobson, when you face the fact that the people who did this horrible thing also...

In another interview, Dobson told King since he was not a theologian, its not up to him who goes to Hell.

There are two Presidents I cannot think of a deliberate lie, but they were unable to govern effectively, ie, Bush 2 and Carter. Bush 2 was certainly the better of the two, but by the end of his Presidency, we were bogged down in Iraq and the economy was on a downward spiral. One thing Bush did a good job of and he deserves credit for is his nominations for the Supreme Court.

Carter was just plain inept. It seemed like a four year skit of the Three Stooges. What is more amazing is the fact his own party controlled Congress.

LBJ was the second worst since then, only exceeded by Obama. We went into Vietnam on a false premise, ie the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution. Our major cities were aflame with riots. In general he was not a trustworthy man.

I suppose one of the most tragic stories in the history of the Presidency is Richard Nixon. He was a peculiar mixture of good and bad. He accomplished much, opening up relations with China, nuclear treaties with the Soviet Union, averted a nuclear war over the 1973 Middle East Crisis (Yom Kipper) ended the draft, drew down our troops in Vietnam, submitted a balanced budget, and was brilliant keeping the Democratic Congress in check. Yet, and this is a mystery, he was paranoid along the lines of winning reelection in 1972 when he had no reason to be. Everyone knows the story, but he obstructed justice, abused his Constitutional powers, and committed perjury. A puzzle for sure.

Ford was honest, competent, and low keyed. He lost mostly because of the pardon. In spite of that 1976 was a close election.

Reagan, IMO the best, was not perfect. If there is one thing that I criticize him for is his selection of VP. Had he not picked Bush, Bush 1 and probably 2 would have never been President. Now we have Bush 3, RINO.

Dobson is basically a teacher of false doctrine. Scripture does not tell us to not judge. It tells us not to judge when your life is up to your neck in sin. While we cannot judge another's eternal destiny, we can, with a clear conscience and close walk with the Holy Spirit, discern when someone is not telling the truth about Scripture. For example, it is the duty of a Christian to shout from the mountain tops false teachers like Kenneth Copeland, Bennie Hinn, Robert Tilton, TBN, etc, who pervert the Gospel and use their ministry as a tool for self wealth.

Very disappointing. So Dobson says he isn't a theologian..... Is he saying he doesn't study God? We are theologians I'm some way. That statement was to dodge the question and shy away from Christ as the Savior.

    Insightful post.

I would make four comments about Carter: First, he was a DC outsider and that hurt him with the democrats; Second he was a micro manager which no president can be; Third, His comments about being a "born-again-Christian' probably did not help in certain circles; Fourth, Carter was a pessimist. He may have been a "Rapture Ready" person.

A president has to be a realistic Optimist. I believe Reagan fit that bill. He recognized and dealt with problems and he was optimistic about the future.

I believe you correctly assess President Nixon. I believe two things brought him down: His hatred of the press and his loyalty to his people. I have always believed that the CIA held Nixon's opening relations with China against him and may have deliberately bungled the Watergate break-in. These people were ex-CIA. There was no reason they should have bungled the job. Nixon may have not known about the break-in beforehand.

What Republican would you have picked in 2000 other than Bush 2, McCain? He was the only competition. I hope the Republicans are tired of Bushs though. we don't need a hereditary office of president.
