May I also add Jesse Dixon, Jake Hess, anyone with the Homecoming crowd. Also, Jacqui Velesquez is good as well as many others. Simply put, Whoever is bringing praise to God.

    In Christ's gracious love,

Hello Torrey. Hello GIG. Welcome to the music forum. We look forward to many more posts from you.

Torrey, I thought Dallas Holm had you dated. So I searched and found that you're--well--older. Glad to have you on board. Were you a fan of Holm's when he debuted in the '70's, or is this a taste lately acquired? Let's see, you were in your early twenties when the '70's rolled in. I was five. [IMG]

Welcome to you too, doug44. Though you have multiple posts here already, I don't believe I properly welcomed you.

I know Ricky Scaggs sings county/ blugrass/and gospel , but he is my favorite. I was born in Southeastern KY, and my grandparents lived there, I am a Northwestern Ohio transplant, but Ricky Scaggs takes me home to the little churches there. I miss Kentucky!

Fot those who like bluegrass Gospel there is a group calld "Mountain Heart" I heard them live last week they are wonderful. They have a CD called " The Journey."
If you like 4 part harmony you won't be disappointed especially on an old gospel number called "The Gospel Train."
These guys love Jesus and let people know it.
Some of them are former members of Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver.

I wouldn't wait another day to get it!!!!
    It really is that good.
"Brother Ricky" really gives it all he has and it is obvious when you listen that he wants to present Jesus to everyone.
He has a song called "Waiting for a ride" which is a song about "Bill Monroe." Mr. Monroe was in poor health his last few years and had to depend on a man to give him a ride to church. He would wait at the gate waiting for his ride. It is very uplifting.
If Bill Monroe is in heaven ( and Ricky Skaggs says that he is, and he would know) Won't that be some Jam Session in heaven.

Hello, peaches. Welcome to the Music Forum. I am your friendly co-moderator. I hope to see you around here more.

I have read some of your recent posts and I think you and I have some things in common. Some things we will disagree about, but that's the spice of life!

It really is one of the best Gospel discs I have ever heard. I strongly recommend it.

BTW, Ralph Stanley sings tenor on one tune, "Jacob's Vision". If you are a Stanley Bros fan, you will recognize this song. Ricky takes Carter's melody line, and the same guy sings bass that did on the original recording.
