Many BB'ers travel or would LOVE to travel. If you could select only ONE PLACE out of your country to visit, where would it be?

If you want to share reasons, fine. And if you've BEEN there, share that too.

Let's rule OUT things in our own country AND rule OUT the "Holy Land" since most would love to visit there (although maybe not on a Tel Aviv bus).

    I'LL START:

Beijing, China. Spent 10 days in 1995 and was awed by the whole scene. Forbidden City, Tianamen Square, Summer Palace, Ming Tomb, Great Wall, temples, gardens, and people people people.

Korea. It would be nice to see a beautiful country without someone shooting at you.

I have never been back, but think I could get up the nerve to go.

    Cheers,

    Jim

I've enver been out of the country, but would love to see maybe London, Holland, the whole Netherlands would be nice. But not sure I would get on the plane.

DonnA, flying is no problem. The first trip I took in a plane was to South Africa, an 11 1/2 hour flight. [IMG]

Wow...hard to decide which was my favorite! But after giving it some thought, I think I have narrowed it down to the Greek islands of Mykonos and Santorini. Went to both as part of a cruise.

Mykonos...built right on the coastline. Found a classical piano cafe, sat at the front at a table with the windows open, looked straight down to the crashing waves, listening all the while to classical music! Sweet!

Santorini...built on a mountain. Found an outside cafe at the very top, ate Greek pastries while looking at the ship waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy down below. Majestically awesome!

Actually, Donna, flying is safer than driving! And it's a great way to go long distances quickly! (Like to S. Africa or the Greek islands! :D )

Donna, after 9-11...I feel the same way about flying. I don't know if I'll ever get the courage again to get on a plane. That war isn't over yet...I'm not getting on a long flight until it is.

I want to see England, and Sweden primarily because that's where my ancestors are from and I always planned on seeing them some time before I die.

While I'm over there, I want to see Iceland, Finland, Norway, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, Morocco, Italy, Ireland, Scotland.

And I also want to see Japan and China.

I've been to Canada. I visitted Vancouver and Victoria...Victoria is a touresty place and it's really nice....Vancouver is a more metropolitan area. It's very clean and much like the bigger cities in America.

I've been to Mexico. Let me put it this way, Despite my husband's suggestion to go there with him...I'll never go to Mexico again. Not my cup of tea at all. It takes a certain type of person to visit a third world country and like it...and I ain't that kind of person. ;)

Look out Yanks [IMG] I've been over there once, would love to have a bit more of a look around there and catch up with some mates again. Have another mate up in Canada, next time I can hit U.S. I have to go up and visit him.

More very good mates in Holland. That might be my next across the planet trip when I can afford one.

Also Sao Paulo, Brazil is high on my list. Yeah, you guessed it, another good mate there.

It is just a shame no one in Australia talks to me huh? :D [IMG]
