Wow, these are some good qutoes. Looking around my office as I write this I have several bible verses up on the wall (Is 45:22, Mat 19:29, and Prov 28:25) and then one other quote. It is a Louis L'Amour quote from his book The Lonesome Gods.

    Quotes

"Someday in your Christian experience, you will have to grow to the understanding that you will not always understand"
    Wally Vos

My first pastor. After saying this he then encouraged me to memorize Ps 3:5-6. I hadn't been saved more than two weeks at that time and both the quote and the verse have carried me through some real tough times. They still do today, 26 1/2 years later...

"When you can't sleep, don't count sheep, talk to the Shepherd" (Or something..)

"It's better to keep quiet and be thought an idiot than to open your mouth and prove it!"

Sayings from my pastor (Tom Dotson - possibly not original with him, but this is where I learned them):

"Come back when you can't stay so long..."

"If you need us we'll call you"

Wow, I love that C.H. Spurgeon quote!

"The man who never reads will never be read, he who never quotres will never be quoted, and he who will not use the thougths of other men's brains only proves that he has no brains of his own."

Was that quote contained in his lecture on commentaries?

Anyhow, a good saying I like is

"Dont do today what you can put off till tomorow."

Dr. Adrian Rodgers(Love Worth Finding Ministry)

Don't let your conscience be your guide
    unless God guides your conscience.

    If you please God,
it doesn't matter whom you displease.
    If you displease God,
it doesn't matter whom you please.

    Loveless truth is brutal.
    Truthless love is hypocrisy.
    Love in truth is necessary.

    There are those
    who can preach the Gospel
    better than I can,
    but there is nobody
    who can preach
a better Gospel than I can.

I would rather be divided by Truth
    than united in error.

I know some of you don't like what I've said.
If I've made any of you angry, just come up
to me after the sermon and apologize.
    I'll forgive you.

Those are all great posts people!

A close family friend and gentleman who also influenced me as a mentor used to always say.
    "Honesty is the Best Policy".
Not to imply I was not honest as a teenager, ha. Just many times part of our Christian discussions.

    My Dad has always said
"Do it Right the First time, and you won't have to do it a second time!"

"Put your knose to the grinding stone".

"Where there is a will, There is a way!" This has been something I have actually tried living by and proven many, many times! It is so amazing at what people can accomplish if they just put their mind to it.

As kids we always repeated "Can't Never Could".

My favorite car sticker. "No Jesus, no Peace; Know Jesus, Know Peace!"

This will hurt me more than it will hurt you.

Never bet on an inside straight.

Always hit what you are aiming at and always aim at what you mean to hit.

    Make your first shot count.

    El_Guero:thumbsup:

I grew up hunting most my life with my Dad and this close family friend/mentor as noted. In addition to a few other family/friends. Thus I was Blessed indeed to experience God's great outdoors and to spend much time with loved one's. With excellent Christian influence.

Your safety tips are right on but would like to add.

"Leave your safety on until you are ready to fire".

"Always know where you are pointing that barrel. Never point a gun toward anyone!" This was my biggest rule to everyone!

"Bring more clothes than you need. As you can always take them off but you cannot put more on, if you do not have it".

"God's country" Amen on that one!

Your quote about "this will hurt me more than you". Yea, been there done that! That never really seemed quite true though, ha.

    Take care. Great posts.:wavey:

My house was clean yesterday. Sorry you missed it.

If you are coming coming to visit me, come any time.
If you are coming to see my house, call for an appointment.
