I just had to tell you guys...if your kids have the "Madame Blueberry - A lesson in thankfulness" PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE listen and watch the silly song...it starts off with Larry, but then they say they are cancelling "Silly songs with Larry" and they go to "Love Songs with Mr. Lunt" Mr. Lunt sings a love song about a man and his cheeseburger! You would just die if you heard it! I FORCEFULLY MADE my husband sit and listen to it and at first he was rolling his eyes at me, but before long, he was rolling with tears in his eyes from laughing so hard!

So, what's your fav. silly song?

It's beena couple of years since I've heard silly songs, wouldn't mind hearing the cheeseburger song.
Can't remember the name of it, but Larry sang it and it was about his lips. Know which one that is? I loved it. Actually I think I'd like to have one of those songs videos, I love silly songs.

The one you are thinking of is "I love my lips"- my all time fav.

I also like the strawberry and banana one with the brit and the swed.

I don't know about this Veggie Tales generation. They think when a cucumber starts to sing it's funny. My goodness folks, where are your values? [IMG]

Seriously though, our grandchildren love to watch those videos and they always sing-along. But it is alarming that my daughter have found some in the series which were not up to par doctrinally and she pulled them off the shelf. Did any of you come across such an animal (I mean, vegetable)? ;)

I love My Lips got my vote in the countdown, but that was before I saw "His Cheesburger" It is hilarious. Got to be the funniest of all time, although according to the official fan balloting at Big Idea, "Oh, Where is my Hairbrush" is the silliest.

"His Cheeseburger certainly is hilarious, but I like "Barbara Manatee," and "The Yodeling Veteranarian of the Alps!"

I have been watching closely lately, because the stories are very loosely based on Biblical stories, but they seem to be getting more and more away from the actual stories. I have been starting to tell Katie that they are like some of the Bible stories, but they are not the true stories.

Don't recall the title; "oh no, what we gonna do? The king likes Daniel more than me or you...."

I've never seen these Veggie Tales, and this is the first I've heard of them. My grandson may like them, where do you find them? Does Wal-Mart carry them? Do I need to order them on the internet?

Thank you Barnabas, they seem like something my grandson would really like. He finds no interest in cartoons but loves anything like Seseme Street, The Book of Pooh, or Bear in the Big Blue House. I may have to start buying some of these. [IMG]

Sue, what are you talking about "my grandson?" That young lady on the picture (in your profile) couldn't possibly have a grandson, let alone a son or a daughter! [IMG]

P.S. Sue, Wal-Mart does carry them...but if you have a Costco near where you live and are a member, they have them for about a dollar cheaper a piece...

<><

P.S. I love them almost as much as my kids do LoL Bob and Larry are like stand up comediens!

OH! Another funny song I like is "The Dance of the Cucumber" and Larry sings it in Spanish while Bob translates, but then he starts saying things like "look at the tomato, isn't it sad? He can sing..." LoL then Bob starts to get mad!!! hahaha

The best silly song is "Song of the Cebu" I mean after all it was so controversial that it got Larry canceled!

Me agree totally. At least now we know who Larry is in "love" with!

Does anyone know why Bob has a problem with that little song in the end?

You know what we have learned applies to our life today and God has alot to say in His book...

Kathy
<><

P.S. Hey Newbie, I haven't seen the one where Larry got cancelled...but the intro for the Cheeseburger song has him stuck to a bear trap and the "announcer" announces that Silly Songs with Larry has been cancelled until further notice, and that they have selected another song based on african artistry...blah blah blah...then here comes Mr. Lunt singing the cheeseburger song! LoL

I have two favorites, The pirates who don't do anything, and the song of the cebu. They are great.

Oh Barnabas, flattery will get you everywhere! That picture was taken 3 years ago, and I'm 43 years old, so....our oldest child just turned 24 and she is the one with a son of her own. Our little Noah Bear! The middle child is 22, in his 4th year at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Our baby, is 21, he is a Marine and stationed at this time in Okinawa, Japan.
Last week in parts of Oklahoma we had a pretty bad ice storm. It took out electric at my parents home and the entire city where my son attends school. On the second day of no electricity my son called and said I'm coming home mom. My dad called and said, he couldn't find any lamp oil or cook stove fuel anywhere in his area. I live in southern Oklahoma, so I went out in my area and found plenty of lamp oil and cook stove fuel, then drove it to my parents home. My son showed up with a friend, the friend had no gas in his car when the electric went out and he of course couldn't buy any, so he came home with our son. My husband and I had already called our daughter and told her we would be coming to her house to kidnap our grandson for the weekend.
After we had our little Noah, we went to Wal-Mart and I found the Veggie Tale tapes and bought one called silly songs because Noah loves music so much. I'm not sure that Noah liked it as much as my son in college did, he seemed to know all the Veggie Tales and all the songs?!?! So, there they were, my son Seth and my grandson Noah, singing, dancing and snapping their fingers to silly songs. :D
